Development Architect – Cloud Technologies

Are you an engineer with a passion for delivering well-architected products that people love to use? Join our dynamic team as we build a cutting-edge Database as a Service. As a Cloud Architect, you will play a crucial role in architecting and designing a scalable, secure, and highly available database solution that meets the evolving needs of our customers.

What you’ll build:

  • You will make technology decisions, influencing the roadmap and guiding your development team through execution and operational phases of the product lifecycle.
  • You will define the technical architecture to ensure the services are performant, highly scalable, available and meet the cloud security standards
  • You will contribute to business domain strategy based on technology advancements and be a trusted advisor to engineering management & align technology vision with their business and technology priorities
  • You will arbitrate technology decisions across your product/platform domain and deliver working results
  • You will work closely with other internal teams, such as product management, designers, and end-users to ensure product success.
  • You will provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, ensuring adherence to design principles, coding standards, and best practices.
  • You will participate and be vocal in the architect community that engages in cross-domain topics
  • You will use computer programming languages and software tools to contribute to the code, fix issues, and experiment with proof of concepts
  • You will author clear technical documentation and presentations to communicate architecture and design options to educate engineering teams and product managers
  • You will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud services performance, scalability, and security and provide develop creative solutions to resolve the issues
  • You will stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud computing, database technologies, and distributed systems.

What you bring

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • You have 12+ years of hands-on development experience and are proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Java
  • You have experience with large-scale data architecture, data modelling, database design, and information systems implementation.
  • You have experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • You have deep experience with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and monitoring tools such as Grafana & Prometheus
  • You have deep knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • You have a strong passion for solving distributed systems challenges and experience working with distributed systems.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have strong leadership skills and can provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
