Join the SAP UX Foundation team at SAP Labs India, Bangalore, and help build the next generation mobile experience for SAP S/4HANA applications. As a Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the development of a mobile framework that delivers tailored, intelligent user experiences across SAP business applications.

You will work on a platform that seamlessly integrates with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and brings Business AI capabilities into enterprise workflows. The platform powers modern mobile experiences served through SAP Mobile Start and mobile browsers, enabling end users to interact with business applications in a more intuitive, contextual, and AI-driven way.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the architecture, platform capabilities, and developer ecosystem for SAP’s future mobile experiences.

What You’ll Build

As part of our dynamic and collaborative team, you will:

• Develop and evolve a mobile experience platform that enables tailored mobile interactions for SAP S/4HANA applications.
• Design and build scalable frontend platform components and services using modern technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Build platform capabilities that seamlessly integrate with SAP BTP services, enabling extensibility, authentication, and enterprise-grade scalability.
• Develop intelligent features by integrating Business AI capabilities that enhance productivity and contextual decision-making for business users.
• Work closely with framework teams, application teams, and product stakeholders to design platform features that support multiple SAP applications.
• Drive architectural discussions and implement high-quality, performant, and reusable platform modules that serve a large developer ecosystem.
• Contribute to platform evolution through proof-of-concepts, experimentation, and technical exploration of new technologies.
• Ensure strong engineering practices including code quality, performance optimization, observability, and telemetry-driven improvements.
• Collaborate with distributed teams across SAP to deliver a consistent and modern mobile user experience.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in platform development, frontend engineering, or enterprise application development.
• Solid programming experience in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Experience building backend or platform services using Node.js.
• Experience with SAP technologies such as SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, or S/4HANA.
• Exposure to mobile platforms, responsive frameworks, or mobile-first design patterns.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities, AI services, or conversational interfaces into applications.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native development and microservice architectures.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
• Understanding of enterprise application architecture and large-scale platform design.
• Strong understanding of platform architecture, APIs, and microservices-based systems.
• Experience designing and building scalable, high-performance web or mobile platforms.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on platform thinking and reusable design.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
• Ability to drive innovation, experiment with new ideas, and influence product direction.
