What you’ll build
- Partner with Business to translate business rules into automated data quality checks
- Design and implement data profiling, validation, deduplication/entity resolution
- Contribute to the future target architecture design for data quality
- Lead PoCs on future data quality tooling supporting various use cases like AI, Analytics, Data Governance
- Lead the migration of SAP Information Steward assets (rules, scorecards, workflows) to futre data quality engine
- Build scalable DQ pipelines in Databricks (PySpark/SQL) for batch and streaming data; integrate with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog for governance and access control.
- Integrate DQ outcomes with Collibra (catalog, lineage, business glossary) to provide traceability, ownership, and standardized definitions for master data
- Provide APIs/services so downstream applications and AI agents can enforce data contracts and quality gates at ingestion and consumption.
About the role
Data Quality for Master Data is foundational to every AI and analytics use case at SAP—especially agentic AI that relies on trusted, governed data. As a Data Quality Engineer (T2), you will build and operate data quality controls for core master data domains (e.g., Customer, Material/Product). You will help transition SAP Information Steward-based rules and scorecards to defined target capabilities and solutions and ensure our AI agents and analytical products consume reliable, compliant, and well-documented data. In addition, you are involved in requirements engineering and driving discussions with various stakeholders from AI and Governance on data quality needs.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data quality, or data governance roles.
- Strong SQL and Python; experience with Spark/PySpark and Databricks (Jobs, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
- Practical experience with data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, validity, uniqueness, timeliness) and scorecarding.
- Experience integrating DQ controls with SAP Data Services, SAP Data Intelligence, OData/CDS views, and HANA SQL.
- Experience authoring and operationalizing DQ rules and workflows in SAP Information Steward and/or Collibra Data Quality.
- Background in AI/ML data readiness and governance for LLM/agentic AI use cases (dataset certification, provenance, drift monitoring).
- Experience with data profiling, fuzzy matching, deduplication/entity resolution, address standardization, survivorship, and reference data management.
