SAP Global Physical Security (GPS) mission is to provide Best-in-Class Physical Security Solutions, meeting Industry Best Practices to Protect SAP Brand, Personnel and Assets. GPS is the Primary Physical Security Stakeholder in the SAP Organization, managing various Physical Security Services to ensure the Physical Safety and Security of SAP, and its Assets (Data, Facilities, Peoples, Products, Processes).

SAP operates its own data centers and partners with local leaders in co-location hosting centers to provide secure, environmentally controlled facilities that offer an integrated security management system. On-site security measures include the issuing of electronic photo IDs, cardholder access control, biometrics, recorded digital video surveillance, and alarm monitoring. In doing so GPS needs to ensure that the security measures keep pace with the increase of security exposure for SAP as a cloud provider for the world economy.

The GPS Regional Data Center Physical Security Manager will be the single point of contact for all SAP Data Center Physical Security related topics in region. The Regional Data Center Physical Security Manager will be responsible for the SAP Data Center Physical Security Standard and the DC Physical Security checklist used by SAP Compliance teams for internal data center audits. The Data Center Security Head will work collaboratively with Global Physical Security Field Operations, the GPS Risk and Compliance team, and SAP Data Center Management (DCM). The Regional Head will liaise between the organizations and be a trusted advisor and partner on all Data Center Physical Security topics. The Strategic Goal for this position will be to enhance Physical Security at all SAP owned, co-located and partner data centers more efficiently. In addition, the ideal candidate will need to proactively engage with SGSC Compliance, DCM and SAP Cloud Business teams on data center physical security requirement topics

What You’ll Do:

Strong ability to write, manage, and enforce Security Standards and Security Requirements related to Data Center Physical Security to include SLA’s, processes, KPI’s, and verifications.

  • Strong experience and understanding of data center physical security operations
  • Experience in an enterprise global organization
  • Excellent communication skills between all SAP Cloud LoB’s and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding and past participation in Data Center audits and compliance topics such as SOC, ISO and PCI certifications
  • Possess deep understanding of the data center (DC) industry and identify and collect key market information/trends and implement into SAP DC’s.
  • Serve as mentor/thought leader to all lines of businesses impacted by DC physical security
  • Serve as liaison to executive management, provide reports, champion internal goals and manage KPI’s
  • Responsible for quality assurance processes, reporting and remediation (tracking and stewardship) with stakeholders and dependencies
  • Excellent communication skills between all SAP Cloud LoB’s and stakeholder
  • Defines processes and templates, KPIs in cooperation with other Field Operations Security Managers
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships with GPS Field Operations Security teams.
  • Handle Physical Security DC escalations, by ensuring timely processing and providing regular status updates
  • Ability to accurately assess and document all physical security risks of a Data Center
  • Ensures continuous Improvement of Physical Security at Data Centers
  • Support for audits (external Auditors e.g. KPMG, PwC, TÜV / internal auditors SAP Corporate Audit)
  • Assurance that security regulations and compliances are observed always
  • Build and enhance engagement and collaboration with other security and cross-functional teams as well with Cloud businesses.
  • Accountable for knowledge management and quality assurance and organizational learning. Transfer relevant knowledge across organizational boundaries

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or other IT-related fields
  • Proven leadership competencies
  • Profound knowledge in Physical Security Access Controls, NVR’s, Awareness and Training
  • Very good understanding of SAP’s Cloud Compliance Framework and its impact on Cloud business
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and ability to simplify complexity
  • Strong Data Center knowledge of UPS, DRUPS, Generators, Environmental controls & Utility controls
  • Strong understanding of Data Center Tier level I, II, III & IV requirements
  • Excellent German language skills (written and spoken) are essential
