Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll build

- Operate and evolve one of the largest SAP BTP setups (200+ subaccounts, 600+ productive apps), housing also major parts of SAP’s internal AI-related platform.

- Own and continuously improve SAP BTP landscape management by working together with our partner teams to increase our automation for lengthy and repetitive tasks, with tools such as Terraform, SAP Automation Pilot, and SAP’s IAM (Identity & Access Management) solutions.

- Translate compliance and security requirements into practical technical implementations (traceability, audit logging, access governance, evidence for audits).

- Evaluate and adopt new SAP standard solutions with a “Customer Zero” mindset: run the platform like our customers do, and help shape the de-facto standard for operating SAP BTP professionally.

- Build the next generation authentication and authorization approach for SAP BTP together with IAM experts (simple for users, secure by design), and expand automated role management across runtimes and services.

- Support governance and operations requests from internal stakeholders, with a focus on clarity, speed, and sustainable processes

- Create and maintain documentation that engineers actually use (tooling guides, platform specifics, operational runbooks, “how to get things done”)

- Work closely with teammates to keep the platform stable, lean, scalable, and easy to consume for development teams worldwide
- As part of our well-established, collaborative team, you'll grow into the go-to technical expert who can dive deep into complex challenges. We're looking for someone who thrives in a team setting, not a lone-wolf mindset.

What you bring

- You have at least 5 years of practical experience with SAP BTP and related cloud services/SaaS solutions

- You feel comfortable talking about SAP BTP landscape setups and subaccount configuration

- You have practical experience in cloud-native development in at least one programming language (you can develop BTP apps, script, automate, and review code confidently), and now look to for the next step in your career, manifesting your expert and governance role, while always staying technical in your core.

- Good communication skills, ability to be short & crisp in your statements, and a habit of writing things down clearly (docs, decisions, runbooks, and crystal clear processes)

- While being a strong team player, you show a self-organized work style and ownership mindset

- Fluent English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

- Experience with authentication and authorization in SAP BTP (e.g., SAP Cloud Identity Services/IAS, XSUAA) – Identity & Access Management and AMS knowledge is a plus.

- Experience working in agile teams and collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups

- Broad understanding of SAP’s portfolio around SAP BTP and adjacent SaaS services

Meet your team

- The Platform CoE enables SAP IT development teams worldwide with architecture guidance, platform foundations and tooling, and hands-on engineering.

- We work across many SAP BTP areas and are the backbone for employee solutions, central tools and strategic services used broadly inside SAP, including AI-related services.

- In our team, you’ll learn what it takes to operate an enterprise-grade cloud platform at scale - security, compliance, automation, and developer experience all included.

- Together with us, you’ll collaborate with SAP product teams and share learnings internally and externally, shaping best practices that customers care about.

- The team combines deep expertise with an easygoing culture, where it’s normal to connect with colleagues also beyond tasks, whether that’s swapping ideas or the occasional meme.
