Purpose and Objective:

SAP America, Inc. seeks an AI Scientist Senior Manager at our Bellevue, WA location to be responsible for development of new Machine Learning models and optimization of existing ML models.

Expectations and Tasks:

Manage an AI Science unit by continuously adapting the unit’s focus and execution capabilities to customer/market needs, company strategy and financial objectives. Set direction by building a clear vision, strategy and business plan for the unit and contribute to overall strategy. Responsible for building a high-performance organization, and ensure direct reports do the same. Constantly push complex frontiers of what is possible in the area of machine learning working with real data. Responsible for a strategy of the implementation of the most recent machine learning algorithms and approaches for an important product/LoB. Responsible for translating research insights into adequate concepts for critical SAP’s customers. Lead important project teams such as collecting requirements and coordinate the machine learning development. Report regularly to senior executive steering committees and/or external reviewers and advise them in terms of strategic Data Science topics.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Machine/Deep Learning, or a related field of study and ten (10) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Machine/Deep Learning, or a related field of study and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must include eight (8) years involving each of the following:

• Productionizing Deep Learning Technology;

• Business Applications Artificial Intelligence Expert;

• Machine Learning (ML) and Data Mining;

• Building analytics and insights capabilities; and

• ML engineering capabilities.

Experience must include two (2) years involving each of the following:

• Managing over 100 (+) indirect reports.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $250,370 - $415,425. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $325,800 - $553,900. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
