What you’ll build

We're looking for a skilled AI Engineer to help design, build and scale enterprise-grade AI solutions that power SAP’s transformation into a truly data-driven organization.

You will play a key role in developing scalable generative AI and multi-agent systems that deliver measurable business impact across global operations.

The Role:

In this role, you’ll combine strong software engineering, a deep grasp of data and MLOPs, and hands-on expertise with modern AI frameworks to turn ideas into production-ready systems. You’ll help empower SAP employees, partners and customers by transforming trusted data into real-time insights – supporting our mission shaping the next generation of enterprise AI solutions at SAP.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy innovative Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions from proof of concept to enterprise-scale production.

  • Build and maintain robust LLM pipelines, including data processing and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

  • Implement AgentOps practices to automate the lifecycle of AI agents and LLM applications.

  • Partner with Product Owners to turn functional requirements into solid, scalable technical designs.

  • Ensure high standards of reliability, observability, and compliance across deployed models.

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers to foster AI engineering excellence across teams

What you bring

  • Degree in computer science or a similar field.

  • Proven hands-on experience in developing and deploying LLM applications.

  • Advanced coding skills in Python (preferred) or Java and strong software engineering fundamentals.

  • Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and microservice architectures.

  • Practical experience with generative AI frameworks like LangChain.

  • Familiarity with AgentOps tools such as LangSmith, LangFuse, or MLflow for tracing and observability.

  • Experience buuidling CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.

  • Understanding of Agile, SAFe methodologies and collaborative engineering workflows.

  • Fluent English and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Nice to have but not a must:

  • German language is plus

  • Knowledge of SAP AI Core, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

  • Experience with Agentic AI Frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework)

  • Familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) and project management tools (e.g., Jira).

These skills are a plus. If you don’t have experience in all these areas, we’ll provide the resources and training you need to become a leader in cutting-edge AI technologies.
