Job Description

We're looking for four team players with excellent people skills combined with a passion for connecting people with nature. Working at RSPB Rathlin Island West Lighthouse and Seabird Centre, RSPB's most awesome visitor attraction and most successful people engagement reserve in Northern Ireland; you'll be providing a unique and fascinating visitor experience inspiring our visitors to support nature conservation now and in the future. These roles are fundamental in ensuring we have the highest quality of visitor experience for both new and existing audiences.

This Visitor Experience Officer posts will be responsible for supporting the team to deliver the RSPB NI visitor experience offer, during a busy spring and summer visitor season while working with our Communications Team to deliver promotional activities, particularly social media content.
You will be working with the Visitor Experience Manager and volunteers to ensure a coherent visitor offer is delivered whilst also working with the HQ team to ensure the highest quality of RSPB visitor experience.

We are looking for people who share our passion for nature and wildlife and our commitment to conservation and environmental protection. The ideal candidates will have strong communicating skills, proven experience at delivering events and a high standard of visitor experience - if that's you we'd love to hear from you.

What we need from you

Essentials

  • 4 GCSEs at grades A-C and 2 A levels or equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of systems and procedures necessary to run a commercial visitor operation
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to manage and respond to customer needs and feedback
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Successful experience of managing or supporting a team of staff and/or volunteers
