Job Description

This role will lead on maintaining our public cloud infrastructure (currently Azure), and support our technical teams in using, adopting, and enhancing the platform. Solid understanding of Azure technologies and their management is required. You’ll ideally be certified to Microsoft Azure Administrator level although equivalent experience is fine.

We anticipate that this role will help kick start our journey to embedding a Dev/Ops culture within our teams and is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in that direction.

To support this we're looking for skills in that area, ideally you’ll be certified to Microsoft DevOps Engineer or demonstrate equivalent experience. You will be familiar with Infrastructure as Code principles and have experience in using Terraform for deployments.

You’ll have experience in delivering changes for multiple teams and managing delivery pipelines.

Our current environment is hybrid so experience with on-premise technologies such as VSphere and Windows Server would be desirable.

We are users of the Microsoft 365 platform with a Windows 10/11 client as standard and expect some experience of supporting these technologies.
It is anticipated that this role will have a small number of line reports in future; so experience of line management is ideal, but full support and training would be given.

In return we’re offering fully flexible working, we’d like to see you onsite once a quarter (or more if you like!) but we’ll never expect you to come to the office just to come to the office. We offer flexible hours and can adapt working patterns to suit (part time/compressed hours etc. ask us as part of your interview).

We’re also big on training, we don’t like our people to stagnate and so we invest in relevant (and sometimes completely irrelevant!) training to help you grow and progress your career.

You also get that great feeling from working to save nature and being part of an organisation that’s doing everything it can to protect the natural environment. You can get stuck in on volunteer days and we encourage our staff to visit and engage directly with our teams on reserves across the UK.

Embedding delivery of engineering requests through our operational teams
Manage timely delivery of Incidents, Requests and Changes in ITIL aligned processes

Good understanding of the Azure platform and experience in deploying Azure technologies. Ideally certified as Microsoft Azure Administrator
Working in a Dev/Ops culture and environment, ideally certified to Microsoft DevOps Engineer.
Hands-on experience in provisioning Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Mentoring and tutoring on cloud technologies
