Performance and Aerothermal Systems are core competencies for engine design and testing with multiple interfaces including but not limited to engine and flight testing, software development, component and subsystem design and qualification as well as authorities and airframers.

As a student within Rolls-Royce Deutschland Performance and Aerothermal Systems you will have the opportunity to contribute to the validation of data from engine tests, optimization of engine test strategies as well as development and validation of novel methods and tools for management and interpretation of engine design and test data. This will enable you to gain profound knowledge about Rolls-Royce design, test and validation strategies as well as the challenges and benefits associated with the integration of digital tools into complex design and data management processes.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support the Performance and Aerothermal Systems team for validation of engine designs and interpretation of data from simulations or engine tests

  • Manage and provide prediction and analysis of product attributes at the whole system/platform level including gathering and managing requirements from/to a range of internal and external customers

  • Development and deployment of tools for management and visualization of engine design and test data

  • Identify opportunities for improvement of existing workflows and tools within the Performance and Aerothermal Systems team

  • General support of the Performance and Aerothermal Systems team

Qualifications:

  • Good engineering background, preferably including data engineering and knowledge about aircraft engines

  • Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and making balanced decisions

  • Very good skills in python language and programming

  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently on challenging tasks

  • Fluent in either German or English, good command of English writing
