Why join Rolls-Royce?

At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

By joining Rolls-Royce, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture.

This opportunity has arisen at our Faslane site supporting the NRPA and Babcock to enhance the company's performance on product safety, and to implement the organisation's safety management system across the Clyde Base Community.

This is a truly unique opportunity offering the chance to work directly with customers, suppliers and partners sharing knowledge and expertise with a wider UK Safety Team.

Regional Benefits

We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

  • Applying safety or plant engineering experience to identify effective solutions to problems relating to our safety management systems
  • Point of contact locally for safety management and to share subject matter knowledge across the function.
  • Providing advisory services to designated customers, influencing their peer group, representing senior departmental staff and acting as advisor/coach on matters where they are technically authoritative.
  • Actively promoting, encouraging and supporting the identification and implementation of continuous improvement (of tools, processes and methods) both within their immediate sphere of safety management specialist and outside, and prompt action across the wider team.

Basic and preferred qualifications:

  • Experience of Nuclear Safety Case or Plant Operator experience (Category A or B Nuclear Watchkeeper) - or relevant experience
  • Nuclear Plant or Site Safety Case writing background
  • Customer, Supplier or Stakeholder management experience at all organisational levels

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.

For more than 60 years Rolls-Royce Submarines has designed, supplied and supported the nuclear propulsion plant, providing power for all UK Royal Navy nuclear submarines.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. We will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t already have it. Due to the nature of work we conduct, we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.

Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.
