We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Component Definition team at Rolls-Royce. As a Mechanical Integrity & Design Engineer (f/m/d) in our Mechanical Systems Capability team at Rolls-Royce you’ll play a pivotal role in specifying, architecting, analyzing, designing and validating high-integrity and safety-critical components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical analysis and design activities in line with process standards.
  • Utilize and execute advanced numerical models, digital tools and robust engineering methods. This includes selection and generation as well as involvement in further development of numerical models and plausibility check of boundary conditions.
  • Apply intelligent digital engineering tools such as AI-driven simulation platforms and machine learning algorithms to enhance design optimization, predictive maintenance and automated engineering analysis.
  • Prepare experiment specification for tests on test rigs and engines
  • Develop, document and deliver production design solutions.
  • Resolve complex engineering problems by applying sound technical judgement, data analytics and visualization technologies.
  • Analyse information from multiple sources, interpret results and identify effective solutions.
  • Lead and collaborate with engineering teams and external suppliers and integrating insights from other disciplines.
  • Evaluate and manage technical changes with data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Deliver technical packages and investigations to meet programme milestones while maintaining high standards in cost, quality and delivery.
  • Act as a point of contact within a given engineering discipline and share knowledge across the function. This may include providing advisory services to designated customers and influencing peer groups.
  • Understand company business and function objectives and ensure that the work you do supports this. Always act in accordance with both company values and those associated with being a professional engineer.
  • Actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvements (tools, processes and methods) both within and outside your immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team.

Key Experiences and Qualifications

  • Master’s in engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical integrity & design methodologies, processes and an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts
  • Experienced in stress analysis, both static and dynamic, as well as fracture, fatigue and life assessment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with engineering tools and digital platforms.
  • Analytical and creative thinker with a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to champion innovation.
  • Knowledge and experience with product integrity, liability and certification frameworks
  • Project and change management, conceptual design, design definition and verification, support manufacturing and integration activities.
  • Good communication and coordination skills; able to present ideas across all levels and inspire your peers.
