Permanent Full-Time (Days, eventually shift rotation 06:00 - 14:00 - 14:00-22:00) + Shift Allowance.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance and Calibration Test Facility Engineer to join the team in Solihull.

You will support to the Test Facility and Asset Management team in Solihull by defining, implementing, improving and scheduling the preventative maintenance and calibration of the equipment, including plant, fuel rigs and auxiliary equipment, within the Fuel System Test department. The role involves all aspects of planned maintenance and calibration management including documentation, planning, contractor control and procurement.

What you will be doing.

As part of the Facility and Asset Management Team you will be responsible for defining and delivering the maintenance and calibration strategy for the department aligned to the operational budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determining the activities that should be conducted internally or via external service providers.
  • Scheduling of the maintenance and calibration activities including use of maintenance scheduling tool (Maximo) and calibration management system (IndySoft).
  • Create and maintain the specifications of work required for external service providers.
  • Creation and improvement of instructions, process documentation, risk assessments, technical files and other maintenance and calibration documentation.
  • Management and oversight of external contractors including reviewing contractor RAMS/insurance documents ensuring compliance with RR processes
  • Develop framework contracts and Service Level Agreements for external service providers.
  • Management of spares and stock control system including procurement. Track and manage obsolescence.
  • Ensure activities and methods are managed and undertaken in accordance with applicable Health & Safety standards.
  • Create and deliver training to enable delivery of maintenance and calibration activities by the internal team.
  • Controlling changes to the Facility by managing updates to drawings and bill of materials (BOM) through application of business change control tools.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for Engineers with good communication and presentation skills that are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders across the business. You will be comfortable working autonomously at times, as well as part of cross functional teams.

Key qualifications and skills:

  • NVQ level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, HNC and/or degree level is preferable but not essential
  • Experience using CMMS systems (i.e Maximo)
  • Previous experience in asset management and contractor management preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electronic systems and components plus ability to understand technical documents such as technical drawings and schematics.
  • You will be able to demonstrate analytical and innovative thinking to solve technical problems, as well as a desire for continuous self-improvement.
  • Ability to plan, time manage and react to changing business priorities, potential to lead technical work packages.
  • You will have suitable experience of IT systems to include the use of excel and other office applications.
  • Experience of maintenance or calibration management systems is desirable.
  • SC clearance or ability to obtain essential.
