Job Description

Job Title: GCAP Digital Solutions Lead

Working Pattern: Days

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Solutions Lead within our GCAP IT team.

GCAP (the Global Combat Air Programme) is a trilateral initiative launched in 2022 by the governments and industries of Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom. The programme will deliver an innovative stealth fighter, ready to face the threats of the future. It will provide decisive capability for its partner nations in Europe and the Indo‑Pacific, and contribute to wider global security

This role involves working closely with programme stakeholders, internally and externally, to provide IT and digital expertise across a wide range of topics, with a particular focus on developing digital capabilities across our manufacturing sites.

Why join Rolls-Royce?

At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

By joining Rolls-Royce, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the understanding and development of requirements and solutions to resolve business problems.

  • Own the roadmap and strategy for deployment of digital manufacturing capabilities for the programme, and ensure it is fully integrated with Rolls-Royce's broader digital and IT strategy.

  • Lead discussions with international programme partners on the implementation of digital solutions for manufacturing.

  • Provide guidance on process, methods and technology to the wider team.

  • Support compliance and governance activities across GCAP governance boards and provide input to Defence IT/Central IT governance.

  • Be accountable for the delivery of digital manufacturing capabilities for the programme to time, quality and cost.

Who we’re looking for:

At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. These principles form the behaviours that guide us and are an essential component of our assessment process. They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles. In addition, we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of IT and Digital solutions in the defence industry and experience of working in a high compliance environment

  • Demonstrable knowledge of deploying digital capabilities into a manufacturing environment and knowledge of the typical digital tools, methods and processes that are used in aerospace manufacturing

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of IT delivery processes and architectures

  • TOGAF qualification or relevant experience in domains such as systems requirements development, solution and enterprise architecture, solution design and IT project delivery

  • Ability to develop strategy and roadmaps based on programme timescales and capability requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with senior business stakeholders and bring technical concepts and roadmaps to life

  • Experience of working internationally or with a broad range of external stakeholders

Regional Benefits:

  • Generous Annual Leave

  • Group Income Protection provides an income in the event that you are unable to work due to illness or injury

  • Group Life Assurance provides for a lump sum benefit if you die whilst employed by Rolls-Royce

  • Digital GP provides a convenient way for you to access GP consultations

  • Employee Assistance (EAP) and Live Well programmes

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.

Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive
