Role Purpose:
The GBS Finance Operations Specialist- Financial Data & Application Support ensures high‑quality Factory Standard Margin data (revenue, cost, margin, product, customer, and entity data that feeds the Factory Standard Margin calculations and reports), reliable operational support, and stable reporting processes within Group Reporting environments. The role acts as a key interface between legal entities, Finance, and system owners, enabling smooth month‑end closings and continuous improvement of Factory Standard Margin capabilities and user support.
Role Description:
This role focuses on Factory Standard Margin data validation, operational support, and continuous improvement of reporting capabilities. In addition to first‑level support during month‑end closing, the position manages service requests, user acceptance tests, and knowledge enablement activities. The role contributes to process harmonization, security concept reworks, and project‑related administrative support within the Finance environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop Annual Operating Plan / Budget
• Support preparation and pre‑population of planning input templates (Excel, VBA‑based).
• Validate FSM input data and ensure consistency across systems.
FSM Data & Reporting Governance
• Validate Factory Standard Margin input data and actively communicate with legal entities to resolve data issues.
• Take initiatives to improve Factory Standard Margin capabilities (e.g. data granularity, allocation rules, transparency).
• Support consistency and quality of Factory Standard Margin reporting outputs.
Month End Closing Activities
• Provide first level support during month end closing with focus on SalesDB and Factory Standard Margin.
• Support timely completion of reporting activities during working days 1–5.
• Coordinate issue resolution with legal entities and internal stakeholders.
General Support & Housekeeping
• Act as first level contact for access rights, onboarding, and user support topics.
• Manage Service Requests and Incidents (SRQ/INC).
• Perform User Acceptance Tests (UATs) for system and process changes.
• Conduct FAQ sessions, maintain Teams channels, and create training materials.
• Support license tracking and rework of security concepts.
Project Support & Ad Hoc Topics
• Support project related administrative tasks (e.g. preparation of business concepts, status meetings).
• Provide training and documentation for users.
• Handle spontaneous ad hoc requests triggered by operational or management needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
• Completed vocational training or degree in Finance, Business Administration, or IT‑related field.
Experience:
• +2 years of relevant professional experience in the areas of financial systems, reporting, controlling-related processes and Factory Standard Margin calculations
• Fluent English skills
• German (B2 level) - nice to have
• Very good understanding of data structures, interfaces, system logic and financial relationships.
• Experience with Oracle HFM, SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud or equivalent enterprise reporting platforms
• Experience in finance operations or shared service environments is an advantage.
• Practical exposure to Group Reporting, closing processes, and master data validation
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and Oracle HFM.
• High attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure.
• Strong service orientation and hands-on mindset.
• Very good written and spoken English and German.
• Ability to resolve Factory Standard Margin data issues in coordination with legal entities.
• Structured and solution-oriented handling of user and system requests.
• Takes ownership for Factory Standard Margin data quality and operational user support.
• Acts as first point of contact and enables users through guidance and training.
• Promotes continuous improvement and a strong service mindset within Finance.

• Strong communication skills across functions and hierarchy levels.
• Cooperative, service-oriented working style with high flexibility during closing peaks.
