Role Purpose:
The GBS Finance Operations Specialist (Closing & Master Data Focus) ensures reliable, accurate, and timely financial data processing within Group Reporting environments. The role is responsible for master data governance, consolidated data loads, and operational stability during month‑end closing, thereby enabling compliant reporting and high data quality for internal and external stakeholders.
Role Description:
This role focuses on the operational execution and governance of Group Reporting processes, with a strong emphasis on SAP BW master data, TAMIS data models, and consolidated data loads. The position plays a key role during working days 1–5 by ensuring process stability, data completeness, and transparent communication with legal entities and Group stakeholders. It supports continuous harmonization of templates, reporting standards, and user enablement across the GBS Finance landscape.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop Annual Operating Plan / Budget
• Support preparation and pre‑population of planning input templates (Excel, VBA‑based).
• Validate and maintain data consistency across planning and reporting systems.
Data & System Governance
• Maintain SAP BW master data and TAMIS data models.
• Execute updates and actively communicate data model and structure changes to stakeholders.
• Monitor and report status of consolidated group data loads to TAMIS (Oracle HFM).
Month‑End Closing Activities
• Open and close periods in Group Reporting Systems (SalesDB, FSM, TAMIS); manage release/revoke process levels.
• Ensure timely execution of reporting tasks during working days 1–5.
• Collect, validate, and stage source data for FSM and SalesDB (SAP BW applications).
• Prepare SalesDB submission sheets for legal entity (SDE‑FN).
• Consolidate and validate COPA revenue with VIS order intake (SAP BW process chain via Fiori Launchpad).
• Execute consolidated group data loads to TAMIS and monitor load status.
• Prepare feedback files and reports for Rolls‑Royce Plc.
• Provide first‑level support during month‑end closing, with focus on TAMIS‑related topics.
General Support & Housekeeping
• Provide first‑level support for access rights, onboarding, and operational issues.
• Support harmonization of input templates and reporting standards.
• Assist users with system‑ and data‑related questions.
Project Support & Ad‑Hoc Topics
• Support initiatives to harmonize templates and reporting processes.
• Prepare and deliver user trainings and documentation.
• Handle one‑time ad‑hoc requests driven by urgent business needs or management inquiries.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems or a comparable field.
Experience:
• Several years’ relevant professional experience (>5 years) in the areas of financial systems, reporting, controlling-related processes and month end closing activities
• Very good understanding of data structures, interfaces, system logic and financial relationships.
• Experience with Oracle HFM, SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud or equivalent enterprise reporting platforms
• Experience supporting finance transformation, reporting harmonization or master data governance initiatives.
• Experience in finance operations or shared service environments is an advantage.
• Practical exposure to Group Reporting, closing processes, and master data governance.
• Fluent English skills
• German language (B2 level) - nice to have
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and Oracle HFM.
• High attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure.
• Structured, reliable, and service‑oriented working style.
• Very good written and spoken English and German.
• Ability to identify data inconsistencies during closing and develop pragmatic solutions.
• Structured handling of data and system issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Takes ownership for master data quality and stable month‑end closing processes.
• Acts as functional reference for TAMIS and closing‑related topics within Finance.
• Demonstrates reliability, accuracy, and structured execution during critical closing phases.
