Job Description

Shape the Future of Customer Acquisition at Pets at Home!

At Pets at Home, we're on a mission to make life better for pets and the people who love them. As Head of Performance Marketing, you'll play a pivotal role in accelerating customer growth across our Retail and Services businesses, leading the strategy that turns marketing investment, customer insight and digital journeys into measurable commercial results.

About the Role

This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of Marketing, Digital, Customer, Data and Commercial teams. You'll shape how we acquire, convert and grow customers, ensuring every pound invested delivers meaningful business outcomes, from increasing sales and bookings to driving customer lifetime value and long-term growth.

The role offers hybrid working (two office days per week) from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Defining and leading our performance marketing strategy across Retail and Services
  • Owning and optimising significant investment across paid search, paid social, SEO, display, affiliates and emerging acquisition channels
  • Building robust measurement and attribution frameworks that demonstrate true commercial impact
  • Using data, analytics, experimentation and AI to unlock smarter targeting, stronger conversion and improved marketing effectiveness
  • Partnering with teams across Brand, CRM, Digital, Data, Trading and Finance to drive sustainable customer growth
  • Leading, inspiring and developing a high-performing team of performance marketing specialists

About You

  • Proven experience leading large-scale performance marketing programmes across multiple digital channels
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to connect marketing activity to revenue, margin, acquisition costs and customer lifetime value
  • Deep expertise in performance analytics, attribution, conversion optimisation and customer acquisition
  • Experience leveraging data, technology, automation and AI to improve marketing performance
  • A strategic, customer-focused mindset combined with a passion for testing, learning and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

Why join us?

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of performance marketing for one of the UK's most loved retail and pet care brands. You'll have the freedom to influence strategy, drive innovation, embrace emerging technologies and make a visible impact on customer growth across a business that's continuing to evolve and invest in its digital future.

Ready to make every marketing pound work harder? We'd love to hear from you.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
