
Agricultural Vehicle Underwriter
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join NFU Mutual’s Head Office Underwriting Department as part of our Farming and Estates Segment Underwriting team.
Reporting to the Underwriting Segment Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping our underwriting strategy for the agricultural vehicle product - bringing expert judgement, developing guidance, and translating underwriting appetite into clear, actionable rules and processes. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Pricing, Propositions, Sales, Agency, Claims and wider business functions, influencing decision making and ensuring our underwriting practices remain consistent, customer focused, and commercially effective. You’ll undertake regular account management and contribute to strategic projects, that improve how we operate and support our ambition to remain the UK’s most trusted insurer - making and ensuring our underwriting practices remain consistent, customer-focused, and commercially effective.
The role offers hybrid working to support flexibility, collaboration, and wellbeing – this will involve spending 20% of your time at one of our NFU Mutual offices (Stratford-upon Avon, York, Bristol, Belfast or Glasgow), and up to 80% of your time working from home.

About you
You bring strong technical knowledge and a background in Farm underwriting, supported by analytical and strategic thinking skills. You are confident using data to inform decisions, undertaking report writing, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Equally you’ll enjoy contributing to improvements that create meaningful impact.
