Job Description
Administration Assistant - 9 month Fixed Term Contract
- Support a fast-growing commercial insurance team with essential administration and billing activity
- Varied role combining data accuracy, coordination and process improvement
- Hybrid working – 2 days in the office once initial training has been completed
About the role
As NFU Mutual’s business portfolio continues to grow and evolve—particularly across high‑net‑worth and complex commercial risks—we’re seeing even more customers seeking cover for risks that go beyond our traditional core specialisms.
Our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement team work with the open market to find solutions that keep customers protected, all while ensuring they continue to receive the personal, trusted NFU Mutual customer service they value. Our unique and increasingly popular market proposition is one that’s growing in strategic importance, providing exciting career opportunities for ambitious Insurance Professionals.
As an Administration assistant, you’ll provide crucial support within our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement division; making sure work flows smoothly behind the scenes.
You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative administrative team responsible for handling a wide range of operational tasks. These include creating and updating invoices, uploading and checking management information, maintaining accurate electronic records, and allocating work across the wider team. Accuracy and consistency are particularly important, as the work often involves transferring information between systems and checking data before it is processed.
The team also acts as a coordination point, managing a shared mailbox, allocating emails to the right colleagues, tracking work in progress, and completing regular workload checks to help leaders balance demand across the team. You’ll support with document filing, resolving straightforward queries, and helping ensure that service standards are met.
Alongside day-to-day activity, the team is involved in embedding new ways of working as systems and processes continue to evolve. This means there is scope to spot improvements, suggest better ways of working, and help shape how the role develops over time.
This is a fulltime, fixed term role offering hybrid working. The role is based at our Stratford-upon-Avon office, with an expectation that you’ll be fully office based during your initial training period, to help you settle in and feel confident in the role. After this, you'll work 60% of your hours from home, and 40% of your hours in the office. We understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. Further information can be found in the FCA Handbook.
