
Naval Installation Engineer
Job Description
The main activities and responsibilities are involved with the physical integration of Naval Weapon Systems on to various platforms. This involves working with external stakeholders both MoD and UK industry in dockyards and trial facilities as well as Export customers around the globe.
There may be opportunities to work on future programmes as opportunities arise.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Job requires working away from home typically for a week at a time. However extended duration travel abroad may be possible/required 3-4 weeks.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:
- Support maritime installation; interfacing with various external stakeholders (constructive, electrical and project teams) within the ship yard.
- Assist with different aspects of the Installation and completes, Weapon System Alignment and Installation Inspection (II) activities.
- Inspect and investigate issues on ship and raise quality notifications where required. Manage the design and delivery of installation tooling. Raise Task Instructions, Purchase Requisitions and concessions (where applicable).
- Creation and maintenance of Ship Constants Generator Tools, Derivation of ship constants for maritime platforms.
- Production and maintenance of the installation documentation.
What we're looking for from you:
Job requires the ability to move around ships and shipyards, across complex terrain, up and down steep ladders and scaffold.
Candidates should be:
- Qualified to an HNC level or higher in an engineering or science discipline.
- Ideally experienced in installation on naval platforms including complex weapon system alignment, but training will be given.
- Good systems thinking/engineering approach.
- Willingness to learn and take on new methods/thinking.
- Keen to meet new people and engage with different stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously for periods.
