Your Opportunity

Our Sustainability and Climate Change team in Australia is currently seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Consultant to join the team with experience across different states in Australia. The role is suitable for a qualified and experienced professional with a breadth of experience in delivering sustainability requirements and outcomes in the Australian market. The role will be integral to our growing team working on some of the largest most complex transport, energy, water and climate risk projects across Australia. The role can be based in VIC, NSW, SA or QLD.

In this role, you will manage sustainability projects, provide specialist advice, and drive sustainable practices across various sectors, businesses, and government agencies.

  • Successfully delivering sustainability activities on major infrastructure projects in Australia.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships internally across Mott MacDonald’s teams and externally with key clients.
  • Work closely with teams and relevant disciplines across Mott MacDonald (locally and interstate).
  • Developing and mentoring team members to grow their technical expertise.
  • Previous consultancy experience and experience in business development activities with new and existing clients preferred.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or similar.
  • Technical and practical experience applying IS ratings tools, sustainability design integration and / or decarbonisation in Australia.
  • Experience in sustainability consulting and advisory roles for government, private sector, and infrastructure projects. Sustainability reporting in various frameworks at project level will be necessary.
  • Experience developing and writing high quality technical content including proposals, reports, assessments, and advice notes
  • Good understanding of carbon and climate change issues and ability to interpret and present complex information in a clear, articulate way.
