Job Description:
Leading a team of 4th line Engineering Applications specialists responsible for application delivery, engineering, and lifecycle management.
Responsible for design, build, configuration, and optimization of Engineering Applications platforms
Act as the technical authority for complex issues, major incidents, and application enhancements
Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across Engineering Applications estate
Key duties and responsibilities include:

Engineering Applications Knowledge: An understanding of Engineering Applications such as AutoCAD Autodesk, Bentley, and ProjectWise, including their architecture, modules, and functionalities.

Functional Expertise: Business Processes: Knowledge of business processes in an engineering design environment to align solutions with organizational needs.

Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.

Vendor Coordination: Engage with vendors (Autodesk, Bentley, etc.) for advanced support, roadmap alignment, and technical improvements.

Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to interact with business users, 4th line IT teams, and vendors. Work closely with the wider applications teams helping to define support requirements and improvements to service across Engineering Applications.

Leadership and Team Management: Managing a team of Project Application Support analysts, assigning tasks, and ensuring productivity.

Motivational Skills: Inspire and guide team members to achieve goals and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.

4th Line Support & Escalations: Handle and resolve the most complex incidents, problems, and technical challenges escalated from lower support tiers.

Application Lifecycle Management: Manage application onboarding, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning in line with governance processes.

Technical Leadership: Act as the technical authority for the team, providing guidance on complex issues, architectural decisions, and best practices
Candidate Specification
Essential:
-
Knowledge of standard software used in engineering design and how they interact with other programs or peripherals.
-
Experience leading technical teams in a 3rd or 4th line support or delivery capacity.
-
Experience in the onboarding and offboarding of applications into a business.
-
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
-
Exceptional customer service skills.
-
Experience in a service desk support role, ideally working to SLAs.
-
Experience delivering technical support in an engineering environment using Autodesk and Bentley products.
Desirable:
-
Degree or equivalent relevant qualification in an IT related discipline or relevant industry experience.

Knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practices, ITIL V3/V4.

Experience of using Scripting Languages.

Experience in ServiceNow or similar ITSM Tools
-
Support CDE (Common Data Environment) Services such as ProjectWise and BIM (Building Information Modelling) suites.

Experience in managing engineering applications.

Experience of working in a global organisation.
