Job Description

Motorway is the UK's fastest-growing used car marketplace — our award-winning, online-only platform connects private car sellers with thousands of verified dealers nationwide, ensuring everyone gets the best deal. Founded in 2017, our technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car, generating thousands of monthly car sales and helping us to grow to a team of more than 400 people across our London and Brighton offices.

The Role

As a Senior Strategic Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in the engagement, support, and growth of Motorway’s largest car dealer partners. You will build a deep understanding of dealers’ needs and how Motorway’s products and services can support dealers grow their business profitably. Reporting to the Head Of Sales, Theo Reeves, you will also collaborate closely with internal specialists from across the business. This includes our product teams who will use the dealer feedback you share to build innovative solutions for dealers. We offer the flexibility to work in the office 1-2 days a week, with one day on the road visiting dealers.

Responsibilities:

  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives of the UK largest dealerships, supporting their profitable growth through the use of Motorway’s products and services
  • Communicate the Motorway value proposition, tailored to the specific needs of dealerships
  • Achieve sales growth targets and secure dealers' commercial commitment to Motorway
  • Introduce additional products and services to support dealers sales growth, for example, Motorway Pay and Motorway Move
  • Act as the “voice of the dealer” within the business, providing insights to inform both short-term and long-term improvements
  • Use data and tailor materials effectively to engage different audiences
  • Drive engagement through pipeline management and effective solution prioritisation
  • Display “best in class” senior account management routines and practices, balancing short-term responsiveness with long-term strategic focus
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Strong demonstrable experience in senior sales, account management, partnership success, or business development.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustained sales growth across partner accounts.
  • Expertise in solution selling, pipeline management, and complex corporate account engagement at C-suite/board level.
  • Deep product/service understanding and ability to develop expertise.
  • Experience leading and working cross-functionally across Operations, Product, Tech, and Specialist teams.
  • Ability to provide insightful contributions to internal business priorities.
  • Experience in Automotive is beneficial but not essential

What You’ll Get:

  • A unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-growing scale-up.
  • The chance to work with and learn from a team of talented colleagues.
  • A role that allows you to sell some of the best products in the industry.
  • A fantastic commission structure and the support to succeed.

  • Significant stock options - we succeed and fail together as a team - we want you to be included in our success
