In this role, you implement programs and actions aimed at the base of the food safety pyramid including material, process and product food safety specification development, GMPs (good manufacturing practices), hygiene and sanitation.

How you will contribute

You will work with key partners to ensure that food safety requirements are accurately translated into raw material, process and product specifications in a timely manner, provide basic food safety requirements advice to key stakeholders, and direct detailed technical questions to the Food Safety Team experts.

Responsibilities

The Food Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all production processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, as well as maintaining food safety standards, pest control, and foreign material management.

They will actively participate in internal and external audits, as well as in the implementation of continuous improvements in the plant's infrastructure. Successful candidate will perform a variety of quality activities in a busy environment.

Requirements:

• Education: Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, Food Sciences, or other Science related fields.
• Preferred experience: 1 year in a similar role, preferably in food industries.

Technical Knowledge

• Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 – Hygiene of foodstuffs
• BRC Global Standard for Food Safety (BRCGS) or IFS Food
• FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 – Food Safety Management Systems
• EN 16636 – Professional Pest Management Services (CEPA Certified standard)
• HACCP principles and implementation
