Job Description

What you'll bring to the team

Welcome to the Stage. Welcome to the Spotlight!

Fancy leading the magic behind the scenes of the ULTIMATE fame experience? Step into a world where centuries-old artistic craft meets immersive sets and cutting-edge tech, where every detail matters and every figure tells a story.

We are Madame Tussauds London, and we’re looking for a Studio Manager to take centre stage. This is your chance to lead a highly skilled Studio team, ensuring our world-famous figures and sets are always presented to the highest possible standard. From colouring and repairs to costume, hair and styling, you’ll oversee the full creative and technical process that keeps our attraction looking flawless.

Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll drive a planned maintenance schedule, lead a team of Supervisors and Technicians and ensure everything runs smoothly, efficiently and in line with company standards. You’ll also collaborate across the wider business, supporting seasonal events, PR activity and exciting new installations that keep our guests coming back for more.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and managing the Studio team, including Supervisors and Technicians across multiple disciplines
  • Delivering a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all figures and sets
  • Carrying out daily walkthroughs to assess figure quality and identify maintenance needs
  • Overseeing colouring, costume, hair and mould work to ensure brand standards are consistently met
  • Managing resources, rotas, budgets and departmental planning
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, risk assessments and COSHH regulations
  • Supporting Marketing and PR activity, including figure launches and external events
  • Coordinating logistics, including international figure transport, travel and accommodation
  • Driving team engagement, development and performance through training and leadership

This is a full-time, permanent role based in London. Flexibility is key, as our attractions operate daily, including weekends, bank holidays and occasional out-of-hours support for events and projects.

Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for someone who brings both creative expertise and strong leadership, with the ability to balance detail, people and performance. You’ll:

  • Have experience leading teams within a creative, technical, or production environment
  • Bring a strong eye for detail and a passion for delivering world-class presentation standards
  • Have a background in one or more Studio disciplines, such as colouring, costume, hair, or model making
  • Be confident managing budgets, resources and operational planning
  • Understand Health & Safety requirements and how to apply them in a practical environment
  • Communicate clearly and work collaboratively across departments and stakeholders
  • Be organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Show a proactive approach to problem solving, with a focus on continuous improvement

If you’re ready to lead a team that quite literally keeps the stars shining, this is your moment.

Benefits

  • Merlin Magic Pass – allowing your friends and family free entry into our attractions globally!

  • Enjoy the ride pass, giving you and 5 others a Merlin annual pass (Gold edition)
  • X2 volunteer days a year

  • Local benefits

Perhaps the biggest benefits of joining us, however, are the outstanding opportunities for career development across the expanding group.
