We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Technician at SEA LIFE MELBOURNE AQUARIUM.

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join the SEA LIFE team. While the role is predominantly daytime hours, the attraction operates seven days a week, so some weekend work will be required, along with participation in an on-call roster.

Working closely with the Head of Technical Services, you will play a key role in ensuring all aspects of the building and technical infrastructure remain in excellent working order to support smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of Life Support Systems (LSS) and all building systems, including routine repairs and servicing.
• Conduct Test and Tag activities in accordance with AS3760, ensuring accurate maintenance and updating of the testing database.
• Perform fault-finding and repairs on small refrigeration systems.
• Carry out general, corrective, and preventative maintenance across facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment, including mechanical, carpentry, and plumbing tasks.
• Respond to and resolve building alarms, both onsite and remotely.
• Support the management of contractors and suppliers, ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.
• Report all preventive, reactive, and corrective maintenance activities in the CMMS, ensuring accurate documentation of works completed, time spent, materials used, and personnel involved

About You

• You are self-motivated with a strong background in building maintenance.
• Holding an A-Grade Electrician License and Australian cabler registration is advantageous, though not essential.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment where no two days are the same. Your ability to think on your feet, troubleshoot effectively, and use sound judgement is key to success in this role.
• You are a strong communicator who builds rapport easily and collaborates well across teams.
• You demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
