Qualifications & Experience
Food & Beverage Supervisor
Are you a passionate hospitality professional who loves leading people, creating great guest experiences, and making things happen in a fast-paced environment?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team and help deliver outstanding food, drinks, service and experiences across our attraction’s cafés and bars.
This is more than a role behind the counter. You’ll be a hands-on leader, inspiring your team, driving sales, maintaining exceptional food safety and service standards, and helping the wider attraction run smoothly.
This is a hands-on role full time position in a lively attraction environment. You’ll need to be comfortable working mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, depending on operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
Leading and motivating the F&B team to deliver exceptional, guest-focused service.
Overseeing café and/or bar operations, including hot food, Starbucks® coffee, snacks, ice cream and cold beverages.
Coaching, training and developing team members through feedback, recognition, team building and performance management.
Creating effective team schedules and forecasting staffing requirements to meet the needs of the business.
Managing stock, inventory, ordering and wastage to ensure excellent cost control.
Driving sales and achieving key performance indicators, including spend-per-head targets.
Maintaining outstanding standards of cleanliness, presentation, food preparation and hygiene.
Ensuring food safety, allergen management, temperature checks and required records are consistently maintained.
Completing standards audits and ensuring Merlin Food Safety Standards are met or exceeded.
Ensuring team members hold the appropriate food-handling qualifications and that required licences and certifications remain up to date.
Using point-of-sale, cost and order-management systems effectively.
Resolving guest issues and empowering your team to deliver great guest recovery when things don’t go to plan.
Working closely with other attraction departments to respond quickly to operational challenges.
Experience/Education
- At least two years’ experience in food and beverage, such as restaurants, cafés or similar hospitality environments.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A genuine passion for delivering excellent guest experiences.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory/sales auditing.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the confidence to introduce and embrace new procedures and systems.
- A current food safety certification, or the ability to successfully obtain the required certification within 30 days of starting.
- The ability to obtain any other licences or certifications required for the role.
