Capital Project Coordinator

Location: Alton Towers Resort, Staffordshire

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent, salaried

We are hiring a Project Coordinator to support the delivery of capital, sustainability, and operational projects across Alton Towers Resort. Reporting to the Senior Capital Project Manager, you will coordinate project plans, track progress, manage reporting, and ensure risks, budgets, and key decisions are clearly communicated to stakeholders.

You will work closely with Project Managers, contractors, and resort teams to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, in line with governance standards and the ESG objectives of Merlin Entertainments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining project plans, critical paths, and progress reports
  • Supporting capital approvals and design brief preparation
  • Coordinating contractor activity, site logistics, and project delivery arrangements
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, governance, and audit requirements
  • Managing project documentation, records, and handover information
  • Supporting CAPEX tracking, budget monitoring, and procurement processes
  • Raising purchase orders and supporting financial governance compliance
  • Coordinating stakeholder communication, meetings, and reporting updates
  • Managing site access, permits to work, and operational coordination during works

This is a fast-paced role for someone highly organised, detail-focused, and confident managing multiple priorities while supporting the successful delivery of high-quality resort projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working in compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and industry guidance (e.g. HASAWA, PUWER, LOLER, HSG175, ADIPS)
  • Budget administration experience, including raising purchase orders and supporting cost control processes
  • Experience delivering toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings
  • Experience working in a safety-critical or regulated environment (desirable)
  • Experience within the attractions, theme park, leisure, or heavy industrial sectors (desirable)
