Job Description

Due to the positive growth at MBDA a position has been created to manage the daily activities and support projects in the Information Systems (IS) Industrial team. As our IS Industrial Operations Manager reporting into the UK Head of Industrial Information Systems, you’ll play a vital role at the heart of our Industrial Information Systems mission, leading a team of skilled specialists who evolve and innovate the MBDA critical Industrial systems and capabilities. This is an opportunity to implement new ways of working, influence the adoption of standard & emerging technologies, and ensure that MBDA remains a trusted leader in secure defence solutions.

Salary: Up to £68,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

As part of Information Management (IM), the Information Systems (IS) team focusses on delivering IT solutions that are used to support the business in a variety of domains with the goal of improving business outcomes.

Due to continued growth, MBDA is looking for an experienced individual with an Industrial systems background. Ideally you will have spent time within manufacturing, logistics & quality domains and also have experience working with IT technologies. We are looking for a confident and driven self-starter who is not afraid to bring fresh, new and innovative ideas into the team.

This is an opportunity to shape the way that IT systems can drive improved efficiencies and compliance within the manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, and quality domains. You will:

  • Manage a small team of subject matter experts.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders within both the business and supplier communities.
  • Manage the team workload ensuring focus is maintained, correct priority is given, and tasks are managed for all stakeholders.
  • Review requirements and influence the design of appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the business domains and within our own team.

What we’re looking for from you:

Essential:

  • Proven experience within manufacturing, logistics and quality domains.
  • Strong Understanding of typical systems used within the manufacturing, logistics & quality domains.
  • Strong understanding of IT technologies, to enable productive interaction with the wider Information management team.

Desirable:

  • A positive attitude, capable of working in high pressure and challenging environments.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Team player with the ability to motivate others.
  • Demonstrable ability and understanding of requirements capture, process mapping and presenting solution options to key stakeholders.
  • Defence or Public Sector Experience.
