Senior Packaging Developer – Functional Complements

Segment: Petcare, Royal Canin

Site: Aimargues, France.

Following the creation of our center of expertise (COE) for functional complements, we are looking to move at speed in entering the supplements and functional treats category internationally. In this context, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Packaging Developer, to lead our Packaging development projects with a diversity of Comans in all regions and ensure the highest standards of quality across our Functional complement lines.

The job purpose is to work on the marketing brief, to support the diversification of the RC product portfolio by developing packaging solutions for FC products, ensuring a robust qualification to the specifications and to contribute to their implementation where it matters.

This role is critical to ensure our transformation, leveraging knowledge and establishing a competitive edge on packaging to keep always a premium image of our brand globally.

What are looking for?

  • Education: Master degree or equivalent in packaging materials and technology.
  • Experience: min. 5 years experience in the industry, FMCG, and min. 2 years experience in packaging development in a similar industry.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Fluency in English - both written and spoken

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • You will be in direct interaction with Coman and packaging suppliers to ensure the implementation of packaging solutions in line with specifications and aligned with RC expectations (recyclability).
  • You are responsible of packaging development projects (primary, secondary and potential accessories as caps e.g.) from the marketing brief to the implementation in co-man facilities in respect of Critical Success factors, Packaging Risk Analysis (PRA’s), qualification protocols and production KPIs. You will deliver those innovative projects on time in full.
  • Operating with a high level of autonomy, acting as the dedicated role responsible for delivering and coordinating the technical packaging execution of FC products, which includes a wide variety of packaging types.
  • Ensuring full compliance with qualification protocols and maintain full traceability of all testing performed to demonstrate conformance to specifications.
  • Delivering excellence in the execution of qualification protocols, in compliance with the Packaging Quality Management standard.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by leveraging your operational experience.
