Contract : Permanent (CDI)

Location : Saint-Denis-de-l'Hôtel (near to Orléans)

Lead the Operations Team in order to deliver the determined divison KPIs, deliver the Business Plan Targets. The job holder provides strategic leadership for the Operational Excellence development and Value Leadership activities in line with the Global and Regional Supply Strategy Framework. The job design is based on the Global Supply Strategy Pillars like Safety, Quality, Production Performance, Investment execution and Cost Leadership.

Co-ordinate the short and long term activities of the factory within established guidelines and standards in order to produce the highest quality, lowest cost product in a safe and food safe environment.

Drive associate engagement and talent development of the department in order to have the right skills and capabilities at all level of the Department organisation set up. Look for opportunities to improve the way of working, responsibility deployment also the resource development is part of the crucial element of the job design.

The job holder is member of the Site Leadership Team and active contributor to the site strategy development and deployment. The job holder also play a role in the regional functional connection, partnering the Operations Division between other Mars Sites.

Finally, the Operations Manager is a key contributor to the success of the MSE journey (Mars Supply Excellence) by leading the AM Pillar (Autonomous Maintenance), supporting FMOS pillar as well as sponsoring the SMAFA program.

What are we looking for ?

  • College or University degree

  • 5 years of managerial experience in manufacturing environment

  • 5 years of managerial experience with a demonstrated ability to lead individuals and teams

  • Knowledge of Quality & Food Safety and Site Safety Procedure

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels and function

  • Fluent in English and French

  • Experience with Lean or TPM Manufacturing Principles, Visual workplace, ISO/HACCP

What would be your key responsibilities ?

  • Plan and design the Operational Excellence Strategy aligned with the Site Vision and determine key Plant Objectives to achieve the site CBN

  • Lead the efforts of operating teams in the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner within the product design specifications.

  • Demonstrate ownership for the brands for all products produced at the site and assume ultimate responsibility for the quality of those products. Lead continuous quality and food safety as well as hygiene improvement projects, activities in order to deliver value to customers and consumers. Continuously improve GMP and GHP standards.

  • Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organisation, as needed, to ensure that the objectives of the business are met.

  • Independently direct the hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of Operations associates following self-managed, team-working principles, with a degree of guidance from the Plant Manager. Use Qualtrics Impact sessions with follow up plans for action items as one tool to drive associate engagement.

  • Establish line performance standards and goals, and measure, control, take corrective action and report results as appropriate with the involvement of the operations team.

  • Ensure that open communications are established and that opportunities to broaden the scope and responsibility of Operations teams/associates are undertaken.

  • Advise the Plant Manager when opportunities exist for moving the line/area forward in technological change.

  • Work out and implement continuous improvement strategies that will help the line/area perform more effectively in the near term. Introduce and use MSE tools to enable factory development.

  • Manage associate relations issues, using People & Organisation department as necessary for facilitation.

  • Evaluate associate performance and development needs in conjunction with associate's plans, to challenge their potential. Deliver at least twice per year a formal performance review for each direct report.

  • Support the PM to maintain good relationship with the site Workcouncil.
