This role will be responsible for the processes and tools to deliver standardized and trusted Molecular Microbiology laboratory capability. The role will be also in charge of methods/technics related to allergens, speciation/adulteration, and GMOs within the Mars Global Services laboratory network, ensuring our access to high quality testing solutions in Molecular Biology.

What are we looking for?

    • Thorough understanding of laboratory sciences, technologies, processes, and methods in the area of microbiology, molecular biology, data analysis and quality systems.
    • The job holder primarily achieves results through leveraging strong collaborative and partnership working skills combined with their credible technical expertise.
    • Strong knowledge experiences in Molecular Biology, Allergens, speciation/adulteration, and GMOs will be essential to the success of this role.
    • Up to 5% global travel including several multi-week trips per year with occasional weekends away from home.
    • Temporary role until the end of September/October. Potential to be extended.

What will be your key responsibilities?

    • Assess new projects feasibility through client discussion to capture the method critical needs which enable the development of fit for purpose analytical solutions
    • Lead the scoping new method development projects through client discussion to capture the method critical success factors enable the development of a fit for purpose tool.
    • Manage & conduct trials on the bench
    • Maintain a high level of customer focus and ensure that projects are delivered on-plan, on-time, and on-budget
    • Write method verification & validation documentation and operating procedure
    • Participate to the assessment and recommendation of technology/brand/model for new technologies/methods deployment in laboratories.
    • Responsible for ensuring high quality technical training material is developed to support the training program: SOPs, local implementation verification protocols, minimum training requirements, QC, equipment requirements, system suitability checks, and excellence in execution
    • Provide support to regional/site labs for troubleshooting and problem solving and improvement of method accuracy/precision and reliability of Internal and External Laboratories Support laboratory equipment specifications/definition for MGS and site laboratory network
    • Define proficiency testing programs for methodologies in their area of expertise.
    • Support knowledge and expertise within Methods and Analytical Sciences on Allergens, speciation/adulteration, and GMOs Provide support in their area of expertise (Allergens, speciation/adulteration, and GMOs) for emergency problem solving and incident management Ensure the validation and compliance of Allergens, speciation/adulteration and GMOs testing approaches according to the Mars standards
    • Proactively engage a culture of safe laboratory behaviours, role model best practices, adhere to safety procedures within the laboratory, and provide open feedback to other Mars Inc. associates when working in global, regional, or site labs.
    • Define technical requirements for safe working in Molecular Biology laboratories.
    • Responsible for contributing to continuous improvement for MGS labs.
    • Support & Lead projects in the area of Molecular Biology
