Wet Quality & Food Safety Specialist - Your next career step?

Reporting to our Mars Pet Nutrition Wet Quality & Food Safety Manager, this position will be responsible for:

  • Implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of effective and lean quality systems to ensure a reliable and safe production within the legal requirements, the international and the Mars quality & food safety standards.

  • Close cooperation and exchange with the central team (Q&FS, Brazil R&D), the local site supply team (Engineering, Maintenance, Operations) to ensure that the knowledge is transferred, and the systems, standards (internal & external), procedures and controls are established.

  • Support a Manufacturing Site or Business Unit Q&FS team by managing and operating routine Q&FS processes & procedures.

This is a 100% on site position, based out of our Mogi Mirim factory.

In this exciting role you'll...

  • Manage & operate routine Q&FS processes, procedures, and metrics at Wet technology.

  • Support Q&FS team in incident investigations & management and prepare Q&FS data for analysis.

  • Lead all the change management process with Quality and Food Safety impact; as well as lead the HACCP team raising issues of the process and evaluating risks;

  • Lead Q&FS meetings, sharing learnings from other sites, work on SIRB solutions and be responsible for the deployment and follow up of new guidelines / standards for the BU as a support for Q&FS Manager.

  • Participate as quality contact in projects implementations (Engineering, Innovation, Standard implementation);

  • Responsible for the realization of agreed objectives, including short-term objectives to deliver to the site. Drive continuous improvement to the quality of our products, processes, performance and profitability.

  • Lead and support the quality and food safety on site, by helping in the implementation the appropriate quality management tools.

  • Responsible for the preparation and updating of Q&FS relevant training material. Conducting Q&FS trainings for the supply team up to the Site Management team.

  • Responsible of the identification and control of production line specific Critical Control Points including the development, validation and the support of the commissioning of CCP relevant technology.

  • Support the Independent and execution of gap analysis and risk assessment of innovation, renovation and COGS projects for the site. Furthermore, of change management requests and of new raw materials for the site.

  • Lead the risk assessments for out of specification situations, level 2 trouble shootings and PRIMP’s.

  • Lead the analysis of consumer complaints and as a result, initiate and support continuous improvement plans à CPM reduction.

  • Be the Internal Auditor at the cross technology.

  • Lead the HACCP/FSSC team and lead of the HACCP/FSSC System in the responsible area; aslo be an active contributor in the implementation of FSSC 22000 requirements;

You?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering or other related;

  • 4+ years of experience working in Q&FS roles, ideally within a Factory operation;

  • Advanced English is required and will be tested during the process;

  • Knowledge about audit protocol and processes (FSSC, ISO 22K) ans well as technical and scientific knowledge about HACCP processes (CCPs and OPRPs).
