Shift:

Sunday-Thursday 10:00 pm-6:30 am.

Overtime may be required on occasion based on business demands

The Warehouse Lead is a core position that will be responsible for leading the coordination effort for such activities as safety, sanitation, quality, manufacturing and customer service performance, product storage, inventory accuracy, and implementation and support of lean initiatives. The Warehouse Lead will drive performance standards in coaching and development of warehouse associates. This role also handles customer and carrier issues for the site. The result should be quality pet food that meets or exceeds all quality specifications set by Mars Petcare in the amount and schedule indicated by business needs.

Principal Accountabilities:

This position is a working lead position. It is expected that the Warehouse Lead will be an expert in the implementation of daily warehouse operations and continuous improvement strategies. This position will also be required to train all associates in the warehouse areas.

Essential Job Functions:

  • · Understand and operate warehouse under the Mars Personal Safety and Food Safety parameters.
  • · Encourage and follow up with the team to ensure completion of BBS, Trainings and other Mars associate responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • · Smart BOL trainer to associates
  • · Must be willing to take off hour phone calls and willing to work overtime as required.
  • · Training and recertifications of equipment drivers
  • · Monitor aged product, reconciling Zsbal in SAP, clearing finished good IDOC
  • · Create and monitor Nexus documents
  • · Perform all customer care required for the site.
  • · Participate in CCMS tickets investigation.
  • · Perform Process confirmation of Warehouse SOPs
  • · Conduct daily conference calls
  • · Lead MSE connection points. Driving the conversation base on data accuracy, using the
  • different MSE tools as boards, emails, problems solving activities, etc.
  • · Interact with customer care, Transplace, carriers and other Mars sites
  • · Utilize technical skills and/or support to achieve desired performance levels.
  • · Drive warehouse team to meet and exceed business metrics (OS&D’s, OTR, Fill Rate, Complete, etc).
  • · Improve operations through individual and group problem solving and provide leadership in solving problems on the floor and in meetings.
  • · Ability to use warehouse management systems (Rebus, JDA, SAP, etc).
  • · Able to quickly troubleshoot and address reliability issues in warehouse.
  • · Strong in goal setting and measuring performance of associates and teams.
  • · Excellent interpersonal and team participation skills.
  • · Coordinate area activities in such a way as to minimize waste, demurrage (cost) and ensure continuous plant operations.
  • · Responsible for all Outbound and Inbound Product.
  • · Responsible for validating shipments and storing products and supplies properly.
  • · Willing to actively address food safety and quality concerns
  • · Accountable for proper filing of paperwork.
  • · Responsible for Yard Management
  • · Verifies the accuracy of trailer numbers on the outbound Bills of Ladings.
  • · Verifies that the driver has pulled the correct trailer for his scheduled destination.
  • · Spotter direction and guidance
  • · Maintain inventory accuracy of Finished Goods
  • · Perform cycle counts as needed
  • · Handle and manage return trailers
  • · Manage finished goods BOL’s and seals
  • · Door management
  • · Responsible of MSE implementation in the area
  • · Active member of a MSE Pillar, being able to transfer the knowledge and apply to the area

  • · Successfully resolve conflicts by listening, sharing thoughts, focusing on situations not people, and by helping to create a positive work climate and establishing a feeling of partnership.
  • · Facilitates efficient operation into the warehouse with a good understanding of the total pipeline.

  • · Ability to communicate effectively with team members both verbally and in written format.

  • · Ability to communicate effectively with the team
  • · Relay important information to and from management to the shift and across areas of the plant

  • · Participate in setting strategy for the warehouse to ensure meeting or exceeding production schedule in the most efficient manner possible

Additional Responsibilities:

  • · Participate in site action circles and focus groups as appropriate.
  • · Trains other area associates in warehouse operations.
  • · Other similar duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

· Good basic math, reading and writing skills.

· Good mechanical aptitude.

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Good housekeeping skills and knowledge of GMP's.

· Basic knowledge of personal computers.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership, and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision and a positive attitude.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner.

· Ability to work under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and/or confined spaces and have full mobility with ability to climb ladders and stairs.
