Job Description

Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to operate, monitor, measure, maintain, and repair utility systems (plant steam, compressed air, water and wastewater treatment systems, chillers, and cooling towers) along with associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for operation, maintenance, and improvement of utility equipment including:

(Boilers, Air compressors, Water treatment plants, Wastewater treatment plants (ETP/STP), Dehumidifiers, Steam, compressed air & water distribution networks, Fire protection systems, Fuel storage (LPG & HSD), Chillers and cooling towers)

  • Perform daily checks, monitor performance, and take CA for deviations

  • Ensure adherence to safety programs, LOTO, permit systems, and SOPs

  • Participate in risk assessments, environmental studies, and CAPA

  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and maintain records

  • Resolve breakdowns and perform root cause analysis (RCA)

  • Maintain MTBF, MTTR, and equipment history

  • Maintain logs and ensure compliance with audits, GMP, and statutory requirements

  • Monitor fuel levels and maintain spare inventory

  • Conduct lab testing of - (Raw water, Boiler feed water, Process water, Wastewater)

  • Execute improvement projects and efficiency enhancements

  • Maintain sewerage and drainage systems

  • Identify and fix leakages in steam and compressed air systems

  • Prepare reports for energy and water indices (SiG)

  • Ensure corrosion protection and scaling control in boilers

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams

  • Ensure >99% utility availability for production

  • Support installation and startup of new equipment

  • Participate in shift handovers and daily reviews

  • Implement 5S practices

  • Control maintenance costs within operating plan

  • Participate in change management

  • Drive: (Energy conservation, Water reduction, Cost reduction (3% YoY), Quality improvements, Support plant emergency response)

  • Ensure compliance with Mars Quality Management Process (QMP)

  • Follow GMP, hygiene, and food safety requirements

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards (SES)

  • Identify risks and ensure proper reporting

  • Support Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) initiatives

  • Support autonomous maintenance and team capability building

  • Drive progressive maintenance and reliability improvements

  • Participate in DMS activities and focused improvements

  • Apply problem-solving techniques (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)

Context and Scope

  • Responsible for utility operations, reliability, and SIG projects

  • Maintain SAP PM system

  • Coordinate with site SIG lead

  • Track KPIs, efficiencies, and documentation

Job Specifications / Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (7–8 years experience) OR

  • BE (3–4 years experience)

Experience:

  • First Class Boiler Attendant Certification (Must have)

  • ~5 years of experience
