Job Description:
The Sustainability Customer Director will be vital at creating value from sustainability partnerships with our retail customers. The purpose of the role is to lead Mars efforts to partner with retailers and create shared value for planet, people and business. This role will work on the Mars Corporate Sustainability team, reporting into the Chief Sustainability Officer, partnering with the Mars business segments.
What are the key responsibilities for the role?
Develop Mars overall strategy to engage retail customers across the enterprise with a focus on creating value from sustainability partnership.
Understand our customers’ priorities and develop a framework approach for engaging and partnering across the Mars enterprise.
Define and operationalize Mars approach to customer sustainability reporting, and partner with the Sustainability Reporting Manager to ensure customers have data on Mars footprint and performance in an efficient manner.
Build direct relationships on sustainability with Mars top 10 Strategic Customers, identified in partnership with the Corporate Customer team and the Mars business segments.
Develop Joint Business Plans for sustainability with those customers, aimed at improving our shared footprint and creating joint business value.
Guide Top to Top engagements with those customers, including at CEO and CSO level.
What do we require for the role?
Essential: expertise on sustainability related topics including climate change,
packaging circularity, human rights etc.
Essential: sales and/or customer account facing experience or strong leadership capabilities that make them a strong fit to engage, influence and partner with customers.
Desirable: familiarity with sustainability reporting and customer reporting.
