We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about personal and professional growth and see yourself as a key player contributing to our continued success as an award-winning company.

Here's the Scoop – Summary

The Senior Consolidation Accountant (12-month contract) will lead the financial consolidation process for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting of financial information for the company.

  • Compile comparative analysis in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability and performance against budget, so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations and eliminations to ensure accurate reporting of financial results at the consolidated level.
  • Participate in a variety of diverse accounting activities in support of business activities.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management to support decision-making, strategic planning, and business initiatives.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and apply technical accounting guidance to complex transactions and business arrangements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline consolidation processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls. Implement best practices to optimize the consolidation and reporting process.
  • As a Finance team member, demonstrate business acumen and partnership to the broader organization through asking questions, demonstrating curiosity and challenging status-quo in the spirit of continuous improvement and fostering a high-performance collaboration environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Finance policies and procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of the Company’s financial records.

What are we looking for?

  • CPA professional accounting designation and a related university degree and three years of experience in financial management; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Understand translation of foreign entities’ financial statements to a reporting currency, as well as principles of Consolidation Accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial reports for accuracy and reasonableness and to prepare and maintain various supporting schedules.
  • Experience in the areas of business analysis, business transformation, organizational effectiveness, and business process improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills, with accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills through experience working on complex transactions.
  • Knowledge and expertise of accounting systems, budgets and internal controls.
  • Strong computer skills, with a high level of proficiency in Excel and MS Word; experience with an ERP system an asset.
  • Self-directed, with demonstrated integrity and professionalism with ability to work successfully both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to respect and maintain matters of a confidential nature, including information regarding monetary transactions.
