Are you passionate about animal health and nutrition, and do you enjoy turning scientific knowledge into practical advice that helps veterinary teams and their patients? Then this role at Royal Canin gives you the opportunity to combine scientific expertise, training and consultative sales in one impactful field position.

You will spend approximately 60% of your time developing and delivering high-quality scientific training to veterinary practices in the Belgium (7 sales territories) and 40% building and developing relationships with veterinary practices in your own area. Your goal is to strengthen and expand Royal Canin’s expertise with our veterinary clients through credible, science-based conversations and training in accordance with the Royal Canin veterinary strategy.

💼 What will you do?

In this hybrid Scientific Training & Sales Representative role, you will translate veterinary nutrition science into relevant, engaging customer conversations and sustainable commercial growth.

TRAINING

  • Support colleagues across 7 sales territories to deliver high-quality scientific training to veterinary clinics in the Belgium.
  • Lead challenging scientific discussions with veterinary professionals and external specialists.
  • Train and advise external decisionmakers, adapting complex scientific content to different audiences.
  • Continuously strengthen knowledge-sharing in line with business objectives and help colleagues build scientific confidence.
  • Support scientific lectures, congresses, seminars, and specialist sessions for veterinary teams.
  • Advise and support veterinary customers in close collaboration with the responsible area manager and wider team.
  • Organize and deliver regional veterinary events and activities.

SALES

  • Build new relationships and further develop existing partnerships with key decision makers in veterinary practices in your own sales region.
  • Conduct scientifically grounded, consultative sales conversations focused on customer needs and better nutritional outcomes.
  • Document results, evaluate your activities, and adjust plans to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Contribute actively to regional and national team meetings and share relevant customer insights.

✅ Who are we looking for?

A credible and engaging professional who combines scientific curiosity with commercial drive. You can make complex information accessible, build strong relationships, and work independently in a structured, goal-oriented way.

YOU ALSO BRING

  • A degree in veterinary medicine or a relevant scientific field such as biology, agriculture or nutrition-related studies; alternatively, relevant professional training plus at least 3 years of veterinary experience with proven nutritional counselling experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a veterinary environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of diseases and the nutritional needs of cats and dogs.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific content for different audiences.
  • Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for consultative selling; fluent in French & Dutch. The company business language is English.
  • A high degree of independence, structure, self-motivation, flexibility, and results of focus.
  • Confidence using customer management systems and Excel for analysis and goal setting.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territories, including overnight stays when required.
