Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician ensures the safety, quality, and consistency of products throughout the production process. This role monitors all quality and food safety activities, performs inspections and testing at multiple stages, and implements corrective actions to maintain and improve product reliability. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication, while taking ownership of tasks and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Support Quality Assurance Management in achieving operational objectives by providing analysis, contributing to strategic plans, and implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
- Conduct tests and inspections at specified stages of the production process, evaluating product attributes such as temperature, defects, code dates, and other quality parameters. Record, review, and report results for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform quality analysis of incoming raw materials, intermediate, and finished goods, verifying specifications before startup and throughout production. Collect retention samples as required.
- Evaluate data, generate reports, and recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to optimize product quality within equipment and operational limits.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues, collaborating with production and cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and solutions, including calibration, logs, and preparation of necessary materials for testing.
- Contribute to audits, special projects, and system improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and communicate directly with production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Enhance departmental and organizational reputation by taking ownership of tasks, exploring opportunities to add value, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following represents the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
