Pet Unit Facilitator

Salary package starting from £30,943 (including company bonus) + Benefits
This opportunity is for individuals that want to join us in delivering on our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS. The role will facilitate the day to day running of one of the 8 Pet Units at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute: a global research and development site for Mars Petcare.
Each unit is home to 60 or more dogs and cats, who need 7 day per week care and training. All the pets take part in research studies that need to be planned and delivered. This role is responsible for ensuring that all resources are in place; this includes people, pets, facilities, food, and consumables. The role focusses on scheduling and liaising with teams across the pet center to plan activities and ensure everything goes smoothly.
They are also a key influencer of quality, safety and welfare and are accountable for developing and delivering several continuous improvement activities that drive quality and effectiveness. There may be opportunity to deputise for the Unit Manager on occasion.

What would be your key responsibilities?
- Ensure that the Unit runs to the maximum effectiveness
- Plan and maintain the Unit training matrix and Unit team training plan to ensure that the correct skills are in place
- Responsible for ensuring that the data collected is accurate and of a sufficient quality, carry out routine analysis and provide insights to the Unit Managers
- Manage the Unit resource scheduling, including people, pet diets, consumables, animal care plan, unit tasks
- Own and manage continuous improvement projects on the areas of Unit Quality, Safety, Environment or Animal Welfare

- Ability to work on a rota, including every 1 in 5 weekends and up to 3 bank holidays per year
