Packaging Technologist (f/m/x)

in Mars Petcare, R&D Department

Location: 05-870 Pass / Błonie

We are looking for a driven and technically curious professional to join our Site R&D team and play a key role in the development and implementation of packaging solutions. In this role, you will lead and support cross‑functional projects that contribute to business growth, cost optimization and continuous improvement, while ensuring the highest standards of Quality and Food Safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and deliver product, process and/or packaging development and implementation projects in line with growth and cost optimization strategies

  • Lead project‑based technical and risk analyses, identifying, assessing and mitigating risks related to products, processes, raw materials and packaging changes

  • Drive continuous improvement in product design, performance, quality and manufacturing efficiency

  • Manage site product, process and packaging recipes and specifications in line with PNE design principles and standards

  • Support and perform technical risk assessments for changes to raw materials, recipes, products, processes and packaging, ensuring risks are effectively managed

  • Manage the implementation of new raw materials on site in accordance with the Mars Material Quality Management (MQM) standard using relevant systems and tools

  • Collect, analyze and manage product, process and packaging data (including ATP data), ensuring compliance with standards and effective escalation of deviations

  • Support Level 2 troubleshooting and incident management activities in collaboration with cross‑functional and regional teams

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline (e.g. Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering) or equivalent experience in an FMCG environment

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a scientific, technical or R&D role within FMCG

  • Proven experience in experimental design and execution

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams

  • Experience in managing or contributing to technical or development projects (preferred)

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and/or product and packaging design (preferred)

  • Understanding of raw material and packaging functionality (preferred)

  • Good command of English, enabling effective collaboration in an international environment
