Job Purpose

Operator (OP) is a hands-on operational role who operates machines and is also empowered to deliver certain level of
maintenance activities. OP is either electrically or mechanically trained. OP takes full ownership in operating and
maintaining the assigned equipment or a set of equipment to achieve targeted tonnage delivered with high level of
safety, quality/food safety, cost, productivity and reliability. OP has required functional skills to conduct quality checks,
conditional-based monitoring, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of the specific equipment or a set of
equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety requirements in relevant SSWs when working at the assigned equipment. Ensure operators and contractors working at the same equipment also comply in the safety requirements. Raise near misses and close the corrective/preventive actions. Support operator and contractors in closing near misses.
  • Arrange raw or packaging materials prior to operation start up. Handle finished good and semi-finished goods after operation completes.
  • Arrange parts to be fixed at the equipment. Order and receive consumables when required. Co-ordinate with store for parts delivery.
  • Operate the assigned equipment or a set of equipment. Start up and shutdown the assigned equipment. Handle HMI and SCADA system. Monitor process parameters and input key parameters into Datalyzer or log in SRC books Quality/operation systems . Follow SOPs and standard running conditions. Attend to alarms and process abnormalities, and follow escalations processes. Adjust parameters as per standard operating procedures.
  • Carry out changeover or reel change. Fine-tune and make necessary adjustment after the changes.
  • Conduct quality/food safety checks e.g. CCP, Kappa check, weight check etc. Carry out any corrective action and follow up, if required.
  • Escalate issues as per escalation procedures using the Operation systems.
  • Report operational details in operation systems. Carry out operational documentations.
  • Clean the equipment, machine parts, tools, the floor and surrounding area. Maintain good housekeeping, GMP and GHP at all time. Maintain the assigned area’s 5S standards.
  • Conduct maintenance and technical task. Conduct regular machine conditions check. Participate in trouble-shooting and repair task with instruction/alignment with PT and Maintenance team.
  • Support sustainability initiatives in the factory. Minimize the generation of rework and scrap. Optimize the use of rework. Ensure waste segregation as per standards. Reduce the use of water, electricity etc.
  • Participate in LEAN, continuous improvement activities e.g. Kaizen event, PDCA and workshops. Follow up on the actions agreed and check effectiveness.
  • Support new operators as an assigned mentor or trainer during the shift.
  • Champion operational and continuous improvements initiatives as assigned.

- The job holder will comply with all Safety and Quality standards
-The job holder will be a flexible member of the team that does what is required to ensure maximum efficiency and support his team whilst adhering to our Quality & Safety procedures
-The job holder will be required to have a broad understanding of the areas operation and how it interfaces with different teams and parts of the plant.
- Direct influence over performance & management of 15 contractors in the assigned area.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications
Technical qualification of electrical or mechanical from technical institution or college.
Knowledge / Experience
Fresh Graduate/ Max 2 years working experience in manufacturing industries is preferred; but not a must since training will be provided.
