Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Hours & Arrangement: Full-time; Hybrid; Some interstate travel required.
Reporting to: Health & Scientific Affairs Manager
About the Role
Are you a veterinarian with a passion for nutrition and a desire to make a broader impact beyond the clinic? An exciting opportunity has become available for a Health & Scientific Affairs Veterinarian to join our Royal Canin team in Melbourne.
This role is a cornerstone of our Health and Scientific Affairs team. You will be instrumental in driving our mission to be the leading source in pet health nutrition. Your expertise will elevate our internal teams, and your voice will build advocacy and educate the wider veterinary community. This is a diverse and dynamic role with significant opportunities for PR and media engagement, stakeholder relations, and shaping the future of pet nutrition in Australia & New Zealand.
This position reports to the Health and Scientific Affairs Manager and is seen as a key potential pipeline role for future leadership within the team.
What will you do?
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), universities, and other key external stakeholders to drive brand advocacy.
Education & Training: Develop and deliver expert nutritional training and educational materials for internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Consumer Care) and external partners (veterinary clinics, universities, retailers and TAFEs).
Scientific Communication: Act as an expert voice for Royal Canin. Provide scientific support at conferences, write articles, engage with media, and contribute to social media initiatives.
Veterinary Expertise: Provide critical veterinary insights for new product launches, marketing claims, and business projects. Act as a key contact for complex nutritional escalations from our Consumer Care team.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a flat-structured team, providing guidance and support to fellow associates and contributing to a positive, environment.
What will you bring?
A registered Veterinarian in Australia (with ability to register in Victoria) with a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience.
A genuine passion for and deep interest in small animal nutrition.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
High social intelligence, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to navigate a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
A proactive and adaptable individual who can manage shifting priorities and work autonomously.
Membership of the ANZCVS (Small Animal or Feline Medicine) is highly desirable.
