As we bring together an expanded and more comprehensive snacking portfolio, this newly created role exists to architect our future sales technology landscape, revolutionizing a global function by harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology and seamlessly enabling technology and our associates to thrive side by side. Our ambition is to agree a multi-year holistic transformation with the Mars Snacking Leadership Team, clearly defining the value creation ambition and metrics of success to unlock significant dedicated investment. You will have the resources and autonomy to drive transformational growth, enhance our efficiency, accelerate and unlock new growth and define the very future of how the world enjoys our snacks.

The role exists lead and champion the global transformation of the Mars Snacking sales function through the ‘Tech Fueled Sales’ (TFS) program. This leader will architect the strategy, secure the ~$100m+ investment, and direct the deployment of a connected ecosystem of AI-driven sales tools, ultimately creating a best-in-class, digitally-enabled sales engine that realizes our ‘One Demand’ vision across all global markets.

Reporting to: Global Chief Customer Officer

Location: Chicago
Travel: 25–40% (global, customer and market visits)
Direct reports: c. 4-6 - Tech Fueled Sales Pod Leaders. (Each pod to contain Microbattle Lead, Engineering Lead, Process Lead, Data Lead, Change Lead)

This is a transformation role with an expected end date in Summer 2028.


What are we looking for?

Leadership & Transformation Experience

  • Senior Leadership in a Global Matrix: A proven track record in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP, Global Head) within a large, global matrix organization, preferably in CPG/FMCG or a related technology-first industry. Influencing without authority: Strong influencing skills, across regions and markets, with no formal authority.
  • Large-Scale Program Delivery: Demonstrated success leading complex, end-to-end business transformation programs with direct accountability for budgets exceeding $100M.
  • Global Operating Model: Experience building and leading globally dispersed teams and operating effectively within a "global vs. regional" governance and delivery model.

Technical & Domain Expertise

  • Enterprise Technology Stacks: Deep, hands-on expertise with modern enterprise sales and data platforms, specifically including Salesforce (CRM), SAP S/4HANA, and major cloud data ecosystems like Azure, GCP, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Applied AI & Data Science: A strong understanding of how to apply AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to solve real-world commercial challenges, such as sales forecasting, next-best-action, and route-to-market optimization.

Strategic & Influential Capabilities

  • Strategic Vision: Exceptional ability to create a compelling, long-term strategic vision and translate it into a concrete, phased, and actionable roadmap that others can rally behind. Managing Vision and Purpose: Ability to create and cascade an inspiring vision across the organization, and to mobilize large sales populations across markets
  • Builder mindset: Creates scalable tools, playbooks, and operating rhythms; improves ways of working and capability maturity.
  • C-Suite Influence: World-class communication and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex senior stakeholder relationships (up to and including C-suite and Presidential level) and unite diverse functions around a common objective. Executive storytelling: Builds crisp, compelling and future back narratives and recommendations; adapts message by audience.


What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Global Strategy: Define and own the multi-year global strategy, vision, and roadmap for the Tech Fueled Sales (TFS) transformation. Define, prioritize, and align key initiatives across the five Mars Snacking regions and Accelerator Division, across all key sales capabilities (Strategic Revenue Management, Route to Market Transformation, Perfect Store, Digital Commerce, Category Leadership, Key Accounts) focused on the prioritized ‘value pools’ and key sales personas.
  • Program & Financial Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of the ~$100M+ program. Define and align metrics of success and driver delivery to meet objectives on time and on budget while securing and managing the global transformation fund.
  • Operating Model: Establish and lead the global TFS Operating Model, building the "Global Pods" for innovation, building the partnership model with the defined ‘Lead Markets’ and guide the "Regional Teams" for scaling and implementation.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management/Matrix Organization Leadership : Act as the key interface between the commercial and technology functions, influencing senior leaders across the business (including the Global President, CGO, CFO, CDIO) and orchestrate with all regions and business units to ensure strategic alignment and unlock full project delivery to maximize growth and efficiency delivery.
  • AI Use Case Delivery: Prioritize, develop, and scale a portfolio of high-value, AI-driven 'agents' and solutions (e.g., KAM Agent, Store Genius Agent) across all global sales personas. Define macro roadmap, develop prioritization and sequencing roadmap, and build capabilities to continue evolving and incrementally improving the agentic solutions, and ensure ongoing maintenance and user experience through the Mars Inc. Digital Technologies organization and external partners.
  • Data Foundation: Champion a data-driven culture by building a case for change and driving the creation of a common data model and "TFS context layer" to be leveraged by our "One Demand AI."
  • Team Leadership: Build and inspire a world-class, globally distributed team of innovators and implementers responsible for creating and scaling the new sales ecosystem. Lead a team of leaders and build engagement and followership across business leaders and technology leaders with equal effectiveness.
  • Process Simplification & Reinvention: Lead the fundamental simplification, reinvention and standardization and reinvention of core sales processes globally, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, improve associate experience, and deliver greater customer value.
  • Change Management: Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes across the entire global sales organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and digital fluency.

Measures of Success

  • Program Milestone Delivery: Delivery/over-delivery of program commitments in spend, time and value creation.
  • Return on Investment (ROI): Are we generating a profitable return through a combination of increased sales and new operational efficiencies
  • Incremental Revenue Growth (Attributable to TFS): This is the primary commercial outcome - measures the top-line revenue growth that can be directly attributed to the new capabilities deployed by the Tech Fueled Sales program.
  • Global User Adoption Rate/User Experience: percentage of the global sales force actively using the new platforms and 'agents' in their daily work and satisfaction levels.
  • Time-to-Value for New Capabilities: the speed of execution and innovation.
  • Elevated Sales Capabilities: Across all domains/sub-capabilities in sales versus external peer benchmark
  • Top Tier Trade Attitude Survey ranking in all key capabilities and markets: Building strategic leadership with key eternal customers and partners
  • Positive feedback from stakeholders across the organization

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 252,000.00 - USD 346,500.00
