Global Sustainable Packaging Program Lead is required internally to connect all elements of the strategy over regions, functions (R&D, Commercial, Supply, Marketing, Sales, CA) and technologies in Pet Nutrition. With significant current packaging spend and a pressing business risk/opportunity both, global coordination and execution of the 2025 Packaging for Growth Program along with future activities to ensure our sustainability goals remain relevant and on target.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 5 years in owning and delivering complex mutli-fuctional and international project development

  • Education in chemistry or engineering

  • Ability to coordinate and network across Global footprint and business functions

  • Manage ambiguity derived from multiple stakeholders and develop different strategic requirements to support our packaging sustainability objectives

  • Look for and drive, collaborative synergies across regions where overlapping needs can be shared to deliver maximum success

  • Excellent communication skills to prepare and present updates/insights on program progress

  • Good to have the technical ability to help prioritize multiple concurrently running project

  • An agile problem solver who can strategically develop new internal and external partnerships to collaborate and deliver short and long-term sustainability solutions

What will be your key responsibilities?

Packaging Strategy Deployment

In close partnership with the regions and business units that will lead on material and market-specific strategy, own the development and deployment of the Pet Nutrition sustainable packaging strategy with a focus on plastics. This includes creating critical milestones and aligning on interim targets.

Lead Pet Nutrition Sustainable Packaging Working Group

Lead the core group that is coordinating activities across Pet Nutrition – including those being led within functions, cross-functional activities and corporate-led initiatives. With significant implementation strategy in both the regions and markets connection, collaboration and clarity of responsibilities will be key.

Lead Pet Nutrition packaging impact calculation

Establish and manage partnerships with external stakeholders/SMEs to calculate impacts associated with the Pet Nutrition packaging portfolio and its changes. Develop an ongoing methodology for monitoring our packaging impact across our regions and support the reporting required to ensure our external stakeholders are aware of our progress.

Track and Trace process

Design a process to ensure the right level of visibility on progress to the appropriate leadership teams – global, regional, local is guaranteed. Build a global network/community across Pet Nutrition to ensure the process is supporting delivery of the regional plans.

Packaging Data Systems

Develop, implement and maintain a system to increase our capability to track and report packaging material use with granularity across materials, formats, geography and end of life tracking.

Develop Next Step Sustainable Projects, Activities and Partnerships

On a global basis, investigate and start the development of our next steps in sustainable activities across business functions and external stakeholders. This could include but not restricted to, new delivery models, reuse and refill opportunities, material concepts, brand engagement or business partnerships that help elevate and accelerate our sustainable packaging program.

This could be lead through and in association with regional and specialist business functions or include external stakeholders to help drive direction for future sustainable impact.
