Job Description:

The Digital Continuous Improvement Engineer has accountability for the identification, implementation, and ongoing support of factory digital tools and applications that support the overall effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement of the factory floor. The role works closely with cross-functional partners to ensure the alignment of the tools to meet factory needs. This includes, however is not limited to, Controls Engineer, Supply Excellence Manager, Industrial Engineering Manager, and Value Stream Managers.


The role also participates, supports and coordinates with the Digital Network COE to ensure alignment of tools to meet the overall needs of the network, resolve tool gaps and deficiencies, and build capability throughout the network.

The Digital CIE supports ongoing associate capability building of digital tools while systematically enhancing the integrity of digital systems and documenting critical operation standards for the tools.

What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or Digital Technology related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Strong technical/digital curiosity

  • 2+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable

  • 3+ years' experience with Digital Technologies including performance management, Digital Twin (DT), Weever, POKA, etc.

  • Possesses specialized skill sets to include: Control devices, handheld devices, HMI, databases and servers, PLC, VFD, Servos, and Network Interfaces and mechanical aptitude

  • Track record of using data and metrics to design strategies, identify and implement Improvements

  • Demonstrated ability in leading change and situational leadership

  • Clear ability to relate to Associates across all levels of the organization

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to lead projects and influence without authority

  • Strong technical/digital curiosity

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Identify, implement, deploy, and build associate capability of aligned digital tools to the factory floor devices.

  • Drives factory improvements through the alignment of digital tools to meet critical needs of the factory, aid in reduction of losses and compliance to critical internal standards (HSE, QFS, SIG, MSE, ex).

  • Supports and coaches digital activities within the factory teams by providing tools, developing standards, and ensuring compliance to the usage of the tools.

  • Assists Production and Maintenance Leaders in building capability in their teams to use the implemented tools through coaching and skills/capability development.

  • Support network digital COE activities, development, and deployment.

  • Owns the vision and long-term strategy for the Digital Implementation Masterplan at the site level.

  • With an understanding of data networking, maintain and manipulate the data collection interface to plant PLC’s.

  • Knowledge of industrial control systems networks including factory networks, distributed control systems, IoT, control devices, and hand-held electronic devices.

  • Support the integration of the Digital Global MSE strategy into the site.

  • Key point of contact for the Global Digitalization program. Support and lead the regional execution of relevant program’s streams.

  • Partner with the Value Stream leadership to supervise all commissioning, validation, and start-up activities for digital projects. Additionally, work according to Global CVS best practices, change management processes, and manage the handover process for the project.

  • Effectively and efficiently communicate, facilitate, coordinate, and prioritize all activities for digital projects with various stakeholders at the site
