The Role
We’re looking for an experienced data scientist to join the Route to Market function within ODDA. This role will work in close partnership with Product Leads, Data Engineers, and platform teams to scope, design, and build data science solutions for Route to Market which improve business performance and decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the data science best practices for business problems across sales and Route to Market projects, focussing on developing analytical solutions such as route optimisation, sales forecasting, clustering, and attribution. Modelling will use a combination of first-, second- and third-party data from different sources.
- For such models, you will be responsible for the full Data Science lifecycle from conception to prototyping, testing, developing, deploying, maintaining model health, and measuring the overall business value of the models.
- Establish strong working relationship at all organizational levels across different functional teams.
- Deliver keeping an optimal balance of time to deliver and level of detail/accuracy given data availability and/or imperfections.
- Ability to lead complex analytical exercises/projects delivering actionable insights and work closely with the product owners to embed the capability within business routines.
- Provide expertise on statistical and mathematical concepts and inspire the adoption of advanced analytics and data science with users from our business segments and markets around the world.
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years professional experience within data science. Retail and CPG experience preferred.
- Knowledge of, and experience using first-, second- and third-party data sources, such as EPOS, retail execution, Perfect Store, promotion, demographics, Nielsen, Kantar etc.
- Understanding of different statistical techniques and their appropriate application.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Python and experience with relational databases (e.g. SQL). Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure architecture is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to turn insights into action through tailored, compelling stories for business stakeholders.
