To deliver on Mars' ambition of a Powered by Data strategy we need Product talent that has experience with data and enterprise-scale data solutions. This role will drive multiple initiatives and enable the change in data and pet-centric thinking across the Pet Nutrition through developing products in the Petcare Data Platform ecosystem. The product areas include but are not limited to consumer insights, marketing and advertising, retail and demand, supply chain and scientific research.

The purpose of this role is to lead the discovery and design for data and analytics products across Pet Nutrition, steering decisions with market teams and functions to ensure a consistent, governed, cost effective approach across all regions and that enables Mars Petcare teams to be Powered by Data.

This role reports to the Global Data Director for Pet Nutrition and will partner with stakeholders, technical leads, other product managers across Petcare and the Mars Global Petcare Data & Analytics team responsible for managing best in class data products & services across the whole of the Petcare Data Platform ecosystem.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience working on technology- or data-powered products as either a product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher

  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product

  • Great at developing new relationships, driving positive change, and highly innovative

  • Ability to communicate complex subjects in a clear and simple way

  • Subject area expertise in one or more of the following topics (AdTech/MarTech, Media, Pet or Human Healthcare, Retail, Consumer Goods, Consumer Insights)

  • Communicates effectively with all levels and presents ideas clearly with sound logic and clear written narrative grounded in business value and impact

What will be your key responsibilities?

We are searching for a Senior Product Manager to create, coordinate and deliver our Data and Analytics product strategy for Pet Nutrition aligned to Petcare business goals and ensuring that products are globally scalable. To deliver data products from planning through to release and adoption, the role will work cross-functionally and must engage, influence, and inspire a wide variety of partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment. In particular, the role will collaborate most closely with the Petcare Data Solutions Team, the Petcare Engagement team and with global Pet Nutrition stakeholders and users. Amongst the responsibilities, the role will:

  • Have ownership of the roadmap, vision and strategy for Pet Nutrition products within the Petcare Data Platform, ensuring that Pet Nutrition’s data goals are met and that there is alignment with the wider Petcare Data Platform strategy and vision

  • Make product decisions rooted in business value, impact, and viability and serve as the voice of the user throughout the product development process, ensuring that stories, epics and themes are prioritised accordingly

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to build data products from inception to user adoption

  • Define user stories and prioritise the backlog that guide the Agile development team, defining scope to focusing on frequent releases

  • Maintain an overall view and documentation for all Pet Nutrition data products, governing and ensuring agreed Petcare best practices are adopted and adhered to
