What you'll do:

  • You will be a critical enabler of the Mars Snacking Data & Digital Multiplier strategy is the Mars Snacking Data Platform. The platform will allow Mars Snacking’s business units (Mars-Wrigley, Health & Wellness (KIND, Nature's Bakery, Tru Fru, future acquisitions) and Immersive experiences) to operate independently whilst also leveraging common data assets, which is not possible with the current set up.

  • The new platform will also provide the Segment with the appropriate level of autonomy in managing its environment and support current and future global programmes. Successfully capitalising on this autonomy will require clear and aligned governance processes with dedicated resources to manage demand, interact with the product & central teams and perform the necessary technical work to manage the environment.

  • The Senior Leader role is critical in realising this ambitious vision and priorities will include, but not limited to: growing out the team, defining the strategy, implementing the technical architecture, aligning the appropriate level of governance with programmes such as ODDA, SCDA and extending the platform to the Health & Wellness business unit.

  • Ultimately, elevating the Mars Snacking Data Platform to be a key enabler to support the data and digital ambitions of Mars Snacking's Business Units, Programmes and Regional initiatives.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Development of analytics solution strategy, patterns, reference architectures etc. as it relates to the Mars Snacking Data Platform lifecycle: Ingest, Store, Transform/Prepare, Serve/Analyse, Visualize and Govern

  • Manage a team consisting of PMO, Architects and developers and continuously build out the partner eco-system

  • Evaluate technologies and platforms to identify best-fit for business needs

  • Liaise closely with Programmes such as ODDA, SCDA to ensure the platform meets their needs whilst maintaining the required Segment Governance

  • Ensure compliance of platforms with Mars policies, security controls and network rules

  • Ensure platforms is designed to address:

    • Access and Availability Management

    • Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    • Resource Utilization and Cost assignment

  • Work with the Enterprise Data Platform Architecture, Data Platform Services team to comply with the guardrails, resource policies and security relevant standards.

  • Work with application team leads to refine and tighten the security framework and access control for internal and external information sharing, including secured/confidential information sharing.

  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion

  • Work with application team leads to develop governance processes for managing services (version control), support services, service migration, monitoring and evaluation of services.

  • Work with S&F to develop the finance operational model and cross-charge mechanism

  • Drive for optimisation and reduction of services and data usage to reduce costs

What are we looking for?

  • Strong understanding of technology management principles with good understanding of cloud-based platforms and best practices in data and analytics

  • Experience in cloud data platform engineering covering Microsoft Azure and associated tools required to Ingest, Store, Transform/Prepare, Serve/Analyse, Visualize and Govern data

  • Experience with resource management, deployment, access management, networking, resource isolation, high-availability, disaster-recovery for data platform services in Microsoft Azure

  • Knowledge of Data Integration Concepts, Cloud Native Architecture concepts with focus on automation.

  • Ability to keep up to date with Cloud offerings and solutions

  • Ability to lead multiple complex programs at the same time in an agile environment

  • Ability to work with Senior stakeholders and manage technical team
