About the role: This role will be working for our Mars Food Nutrition segment, where we help to make it easier for people to eat healthy meals and explore flavors from around the world.
You’ll play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and brand presence for the Mars Food Portfolio. Partnering closely with National Account Managers, this customer-facing role leads the execution of omnichannel activation plans, manages media partnerships, and ensures seamless cross-functional collaboration to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. With responsibility for promotional performance, financial governance, and selected category ownership, this role offers strong development pathways into portfolio account management.
Role Title: Customer Development Manager – Grocery Retail
Location: Sydney, NSW
Hours: Full-time, Hybrid working
Reporting to: Customer Director - Coles
What you’ll do:
- Drive sales growth and brand presence for the Mars Food Portfolio with a major retailer by executing impactful in-store and online activation plans.
- Partner closely with National Account Managers to deliver customer plans and support key retail account strategies.
- Lead omnichannel activations and media partnerships to enhance customer engagement and shopper experience.
- Manage promotional activity, claims administration, aged accruals, and invoicing to ensure strong financial governance.
- Build strong customer relationships while gaining exposure to portfolio account management and category ownership opportunities.
Your unique ingredients:
- Degree in Commerce, Business or similar preferred, or equivalent or transferrable experience
- High learning agility with the ability to quickly adapt, problem-solve, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Commercially minded with solid financial acumen and confidence managing claims, accruals, and metrics
- Advanced organisational skills and attention to detail, with strong capability in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to build influential, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong digital capability with an understanding of online activation and media (experience highly regarded).
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a genuine interest in sales and/or marketing.
- A passion for food and enthusiasm for building brands shoppers love.
